This may be the best bridge course or the only bridge course available in the online platform that is specially designed to help 11ᵗʰ going children to grasp the higher secondary physics concepts. It covers, comprehensively, the most fundamental and crucial concepts of dimensions of a quantity, theory of errors and calculus with a lot of suitable examples, ranging from easy to advanced level. Each and every lecture of the course is thoughtfully curated to match the requirements of the 10ᵗʰ to 11ᵗʰ going children keeping their knowledge and understanding level in mind. Despite the vast coverage of the basics and application problems, the most comforting point about the course is - You can cover them all in under 10 hours. Each lecture is concise but concept ridden and contains no 'beating-around-the-bush' talks that consume more time.
This course, at this stage, divided into 6 sections, as follows
1. Dimensions of a Physical Quantity
This section contains dimensional formula of a physical quantities, quantities with same dimensions, dimensional and dimensionless constants, Applications of dimensional formula in converting a quantity from one system of unit to another, dimensional consistency of a formula or equation etc., which form the basics of NEET / JEE level questions.
2. Theory of Errors
No measurement is exact. Hence, every calculation using measured values of a quantity is prone to contain errors. When we use measured values to calculate further physical quantities, they are bound to contain errors (for instance, calculating area of a square using the measured values of the side of the square). This tendency of the error to propagate from measured value to calculated value is discussed for different mathematical operations viz., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and raising to some powers. This section also contains a tiny lecture on 'Binomial Expansion' and its usage in error theory.
3. Introduction to Differential Calculus
The higher secondary physics can be dealt in two different approaches. They are algebraic approach and calculus approach. The higher secondary physics, right away shifts to calculus approach as opposed to algebraic approach, which the children used to in the high school level. This perplexes the student. This section contains essential introductory concepts about functions, derivative of the function and the rules involved in taking the derivative. All of which are very important in understanding the physics concepts as well as problem solving for JEE and NEET like exams.
4. Introduction to Integral Calculus
Where ever we do addition, inherently subtraction is involved. in the same fashion, the inverse operation of differentiation is integration. Integration Integration as area of the curve and anti-derivative are discussed, along with indefinite and definite integrals.
Physics deals with interaction between objects (Force) and energy involved. The force of interaction, in its very nature is directional, which means that it is a vector. Naturally, we have to deal with vectors throughout physics immensely. Understanding vectors is again in very crucial. As a matter of fact, this section contains the most number of lectures and application level problems that have already been asked in the entrance exams like NEET and JEE.
6. Introduction to Kinematics in 2-Dimensions
This section discusses all possible projectile motions in 2 dimensions, starting from 2-D projectile on a horizontal ground and the projection from a tower. The understanding would help you solve higher level problems related to entrance examinations.
There will be an addition of another section that deals with 'Kinematics in 1-Dimensions' based on the requirement of the learner. Although, the course does not promise to offer individual lessons of 11ᵗʰ standard syllabus, it does cover major (to about 80%) of the first two lessons of Tamilnadu State Board Syllabus, 3 lessons of the NCERT 11ᵗʰ Syllabus.
