The tools we need for this course does not have to be expensive. In this lecture, I'll walk you through what to think about and what options you have when picking out a digital sketching tablet.
We need to get the creativity going before jumping in to the rendering part. Here's how I do it. I think it will work for you too!
The single most important thing to always keep in mind when rendering is your light source. This will guide you throughout the render.
Now we jump into the fun stuff! Let's start by rendering our ellipsoid and make it pop!
In this lecture we move on to rendering the sphere.
Shading is essentially the use of light and dark shades to visualize form. Here I show you how to use darker shades to do this.
Glossy or matte surfaces are determined by what type of reflections you chose to use in your rendering. Here you'll learn the difference between them.
Adding a shadow doesn't have to be complicated at all. Here's how I do it and it doesn't require using any guidelines, as long as you know where your light source is!
This is the trickiest part of this course, but if you get it right, you'll have an awesome looking sphere on which you can add any texture you like!
Hi I'm Marouane, welcome to my course on Photoshop for industrial designers.
This is the second part in the Photoshop for Designers series and in this course we are going to cover how to sketch and render round objects in Photoshop using a digital sketching tablet such as a Wacom.
You will also learn how to take an image of a texture of your choice and wrap it around any surface you like. This is extremely useful if you are rendering products in Photoshop and need to add specific textures to surfaces. It saves a ton of time!
By the end of this course, if you decide to follow along you will have a sphere or a ball rendered in Photoshop with a texture added to it of your choice.
I would love to see your textured ball uploaded in the Q&A section of this course!
This course is for you who are starting out with digital sketching or simply want to learn how you can use a tablet to design objects and products in Photoshop.
Make sure you download Photoshop file that's attached in the first section of this course. This way you can see the layer structure and how the shading is built up by opening up the file on your computer.
Also download my brush set inside the course if you like.
Thank you for your time! I will see you inside the course.
