Producing packaging can be very expensive. One of my most recent package designs cost roughly $30,000 to print because of the minimum orders we had to make in order to make the per-unit packaging cost reasonable. It was still roughly $6 per box to produce, even with the bulk discount.

I use these techniques to show clients what my visions are for projects before they are printed.

Learning how to create realistic packaging mockups is a great skill to have because it can help make sure that everyone is on the same page with what the final result will be.

It's also a great way to make your portfolio look polished and professional, even if you don't have a real product to show or can't afford to have it printed yet.
