We're going to create an animation from scratch on photoshop. We're gonna draw frame by frame a jumping cupcake. At the end of the lecture you'll have a black and white animation.

Let's start drawing our robot! We'll trace our sketch and then add the different elements that will conform the animation of the dancing android.
We're going to put together our robot assets in photoshop and give them life! We'll stitch every part until we create the illusion of movement. At the end of the lecture you'll learn to clean up an analog file and put it together digitally.

Let's learn the 12 basic principles of animation!
(From the creators) The 12 basic principles of animation were developed by the 'old men' of Walt Disney Studios, amongst them Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston, during the 1930s. Of course they weren't old men at the time, but young men who were at the forefront of exciting discoveries that were contributing to the development of a new art form. These principles came as a result of reflection about their practice and through Disney's desire to use animation to express character and personality.

On this course you'll learn to turn hand drawn sketches into animations using Photoshop. You'll learn to add some dance moves to a pencil drawing of a robot. We'll create a happy jumping cupcake that never gets tired. We'll add some vibrancy to typography. We'll create a smooth cat animation using video timeline, vector shapes, and smart objects. And we'll create a realistic animation by tracing on top of a video.
This course will teach you basic animation principles and how to apply them using simple Photoshop tools.
The course is separated in independent sections. You can start the section that most interests you without worrying about having to take the other ones to understand the context. Each section has its own downloadable materials that you can use.
Take this course if you're curious about animation and want to have some fun creating silly GIF doodles. This is not a professional animation course! It's just to learn a cool skill.
