    Learn how to choose pfSense hardware, set up a Netgate 1100 appliance, and configure basic networking via the web interface, including DHCP, NAT, and firewall rules for a home office.

  • Bridging on pfSense10:42

    Bridge the LAN and LAN2 ports on pfSense into a single bridge interface, assign 172.17.0.1/24, enable DHCP on the bridge, and configure a rule to allow 172.17.0.0/24 traffic.

  • Connecting the pfSense to the Wireless6:26

    Connect pfSense to a wireless access point and bridge wireless to ethernet to deliver home internet; verify connectivity with a device obtaining an IP address 172.17.0.1 and accessing google.com.

Are you new to pfSense. Do you have a Netgate device that you wish to configure it to share internet service to your home or small office and you do not know how to do it? This course is then for you.

I have made this course to be free of charge to raise the awareness about pfSense software and let anyone know how to make the basic configuration on the pfSense.

In this course, I will walk though with you on LABS. I will show you step by step how to connect to the pfSense, how to configure to share internet on wired network, how to use the other available ports on the device to be like a switch, and how to connect the pfSense appliance to a wireless AP in order to provide internet via wireless.

With all those steps, I am going to show you at the begining of the course about the different Netgate devices (which use pfSense software as OS) and their different sizes. Also I am going to show you how you can learn pfSense from Netgate documentation and how you can register to the exam and be able to get a pfSense certificate.
