Description

In Part 2 of this series, we move beyond structured foundations into silhouettes that represent freedom, movement, and modernity in fashion history.

This course focuses on drafting three influential dress styles inside CLO3D: the Shift dress, the Trapeze dress, and the Wrap dress. Each of these designs marked a turning point in how garments interacted with the body—shifting away from rigid shaping toward ease, volume, and functional elegance.

You will learn how to manipulate your existing blocks to create unfitted and semi-fitted silhouettes while maintaining balance and professional construction standards. The Shift will teach you control over ease and proportion. The Trapeze will strengthen your understanding of flare distribution and A-line shaping. The Wrap dress will guide you through functional pattern engineering, ensuring both structure and wearability.

This is not about copying historical garments. It is about understanding their construction logic and translating that knowledge into contemporary digital drafting.

Throughout the course, you will refine your ability to control volume, manage silhouette expansion, and draft garments that move naturally with the body.

If Part 1 built your structural foundation, Part 2 expands your creative range and strengthens your drafting confidence.

By the end of this course, you will not only have three completed dress patterns—you will have a deeper understanding of how silhouette communicates design intention.
