The videos are divided into content completed sequences, some longer, some shorter.
The first lesson always includes the comprehensive Handout of the whole chapter as a PDF in the downloadable section.
If you have any questions regarding the single lessons, you are invited to use the Q-A-Section and ask! Nicolas or somebody else of the team or even another future Digital Nomad will answer you.
Before starting into the content of the course, I tell a bit about myself, where I grew up, how I found my passion of traveling and how I eventually became a Digital Nomad!
Also I share, what was my motivation to create this course for you!
I’m pretty sure you’ll see parts of yourself in my story! Feel free to comment on the Introduction Thread how you feel about it, your situation at the moment and what’s your reason to change something and become a Digital Nomad!

Also I show you, what are the differences between the Roadmap as a practical fastlane compared to the Full Journey as a step-by-step guide!
Contrasting PARADISED to other courses, in this lesson I tell you what you can definitely not expect from it. So listen carefully, if you look for one of these things, you better switch the program.
Explaining you the importance of your passion as your motivation for becoming a Digital Nomad I use the “Golden Circle Model” and go into detail of your “What”, “How” and “Why”.
Your can read more about the Golden Circle Model here.
Your passion as your motivation is the core; but there is more characteristics that give you what it takes to become a Digital Nomad and define you as a part of our target group. In this chapter you’ll learn exactly what that is.
Also in this video I elaborate on the “Non-Target Group” - means people that should definitely not do the course. If you’re a part of those you rather stop at this point.
Also having talked about how much work, time and energy becoming a Digital Nomad requires it’s time to put a light on the truly amazing benefits that this will give to you! The objectives of the course.
Now you probably say: Wow this sounds all great? But how long will I need from starting PARADISED to eventually book my flight out and live as a Digital Nomad.
This depends a lot on how much time you dedicate to the course! In this video I tell you how in about 3 to 6 month you’re ready to go and how this is totally possible also when you still work full time.
Probably the most interesting part of the introduction: The Table of Content. I explain you in detail what you will learn by each chapter and take an extra look at the main piece of the course, the Digital Marketing Blueprint and its 7 chapter.

Not every job is suitable as a Digital Nomad Job and the remote ones that are, are not necessary good ones.
In this lesson we’ll discuss the outlines of every great Digital Nomad Job!
Did I forget one? Share it on the comments!
In this chapter I want to contrast the two types of Digital Nomads from a financial view:
The planner and the explorer.
So who of those two is actually really free according to the concept of the course? In this chapter I dive into it, and tell you why financial flexibility is a key requirement of a fulfilled Digital Nomad life.
Are you either a planner or explorer? Comment on the thread and explain why!
Your job needs to be online, that’s clear. But disregarding the choice of your field and specialization, there’s still the question of in what form you want to work.
In this and the following lessons, I’ll talk about the magic three types of employments, that you probably already came across:
The Freelancer
The Entrepreneuer
The Remote Employee
Also I talk about why the PARADISED Freedom Roadmap focuses on the Freelancer as your ideal starting point.
Every job that can be done in an office can be done from home or from anywhere? Absolutely true! And I explain you why Digital Marketing is your best bet to start with.
Do you already have an idea what you wanna do?
Got it all? Then do my checklist to track your progress. You’ll find this always at the end of each important section.
No money, no traveling! You need to sustain your new lifestyle as a Digital Nomad and as a Digital Marketing Freelancer this is highly feasible plus there is a process behind it that you can follow - also as an absolute beginner.
In the Digital Marketing Blueprint I’ve arranged you my knowledge practically in an order that you can follow! So, this is the core piece of the course. Enjoy!
And if you have any questions, feel free to reach out on the threads or to me privately. And don’t forget to share your progress on the thread “Progress and Journey”, so everybody can see how you evolve and take it as a motivation!
Upfront I tell you what’s actually a blueprint and why I chose it as the framework and starting point for your Digital Nomad journey. After that we talk about the 6 success factors.
These 6 success factors are key for your Digital Marketing Business. These are:
Focus on your or product or service
Find your niche
Establish a network
Build your brand
Never stop learning
Know your numbers
You should memorise them in every step of your set up process and also when your business is starting and running!
In this lesson, I’ll explain, what each of them mean for you and why they are so important for your business and Digital Nomad journey.
Do you think you’ve already internalized some of those factors?
I talked a lot about my storym about Digital Nomads, but what’s actually my business? How do I sustain my travels? In this video I introduce you to Cool Ice Creatives, my Performance Marketing network.
What we do for whom and why it suits perfectly to my lifestyle.
There are many specializations within the field of Digital Marketing, and in this lesson, we will cover the following jobs to help you find the one that suits you best:
Social Media Manager: Content creation, strategy, and community management
Performance Marketer (PPC Manager): Marketing campaigns, conversion rate optimization and business consulting
SEO Specialist: Grow of organic traffic and search engine ranking
Influencer Coordinator: Utilize influencer partnerships to boost brand and sales
E-Mail-Marketer: Manage email campaigns for customer retention and acquisition
E-Commerce Specialist: Grow revenue from online shops through site optimization and digital marketing
Web Designer: Design websites and curate online user experiences
Data Analyst: Analyze, interpret, and design recommendations based on data
In the Freedom Roadmap, we will focus on Social Media Manager, Performance Marketer (Paid Ads Specialist), SEO Specialist, Webdesigner and E-Mail-Marketer.
Which specialization are you fancying? Comment it in the thread!
Just a choosing a specialization a is not enough for you to have success and an easy market entry. What you need is a niche.
And according to me definition that’s a dynamic mix of your specialization, your targeted audience and your unique selling point.
In this lesson we find out how you can find a powerful niche for yourself.
Let me know about the Niche you choose in the Digital Marketing thread! Highly curious!
But not every specialization from my experience is equally good to start with and sustainable over time. In this lesson we dive into how to chose a product along the dimensions of
Current market relevance
Future market relevance
Size of competition
And also your preference and lifestyle as a Digital Nomad.
As promised, we won’t just explore the different specializations from a business perspective, but also discuss every aspect of life as a Digital Nomad.
Let’s break it down: Which of the specialization we’re considering is good for which Digital Nomad lifestyle and why. Here we’ll go into the advantages and challenges of each service.
I started with Social Media Management and it was great because of its planning reliability and great retainer potential, but it had lower hourly salaries. Now I prefer working in Performance Marketing, which requires more knowledge and experience, but gives higher hourly salaries and budget participations.
Which one will you go for and why?
Now I will explain how to define your target audience by considering key factors such as company size, location, sector, and the challenges they face. I will also guide you in identifying clients who align with the Digital Nomad lifestyle—clients who are remote-friendly, flexible with planning, and tech-savvy.
What about you? Have you thought about your ideal client yet? Or do you maybe already work for them?
Share your thoughts and experiences in the Digital Marketing thread, and connect with others who are on the same journey!
In this lesson you will learn how to define and establish the Unique Selling Point (USP) of your Digital Marketing Business, which is already the third and last part of finding your niche.
We´ll cover how to identify what sets you apart from the competition and what does not. Whether through product quality, service innovation, price, or customer relations.
With global competition, it’s important to showcase your USP in everything you do - product design, brand communication, and marketing - so clients can immediately recognize what makes you stand out.
What unique aspect will you focus on for your business? Let us know in the discussion down below and get feedback from me and others!
Which soft and hard skills do you actually need to perform the presented specializations? We talk about it in this lesson.
As I said at the beginning: Soft skills can be improved and hard skills can be acquired - and that’s great news!
But not all skills are easily easy to learn. Apart from that, there are things you should consider, that make your learning process easier. I share those tips in this lesson.
In this brief lesson, I will summarize my top 7 rules that will help you find your niche and achieve success as a Digital Nomad.
Here are the rules:
Specify the three aspects specialization, target audience and USP for your Digital Marketing business
Consider actual market positions, competition and future market potentials.
Don’t just rely on one cash-cow.
Don’t overestimate your skills and time you need to learn them.
Always differentiate through quality never through the price.
Like what you do.
The Business should suit your preferred Digital Nomad Lifestyle.
At the end I give you an example for a good and bad chosen niche and also some personal recommendations.
We’ll shift our focus from your niche and specialization to how you can actually acquire the skills needed to excel in your chosen field.
In this course I won’t teach you the skills for your explication, but show you where to get them the most efficient way. Generally you can differentiate between General Business Knowledge / Mindset, General Digital Marketing Knowledge and specific skills knowledge.
The first comes on the go, for the latter two it makes sense to get into learning.
To help you get started, I’ve gathered a list of resources you can use to study and practice. From free online materials to structured mentorship programs, there’s something for every learning style:
Offline resources: Books and (free) university courses
Online resources: Platforms like YouTube, forums, e-books, on-demand coaching, mentorship programs, in-app training directly from platforms like Google and Facebook
With so many resources available, learning the skills you need has never been more accessible. Don’t hesitate to share your favorite learning platforms with others in the community!
The best: You will literally find everything on udemy.com and also for free on Youtube everything about your specialization in high quality. The Freedom Journey includes a detailed list on programs per specialization that I recommend. If you need a personal recommendation, just text me!
If you want a mentorship program, check out the full course or one of these :
Udacity – Digital Marketing
Acadium
GrowthMentor
Mentorcruise
I finish the lesson with some hands-on quiz how you learn your skill in a practical, but profound way to be prepared to start your first project! Also, I elaborate on my opinion on the importance on theory vs. experience!
That’s been the first part of Chapter I - go through the checklist to track your progress. For now or for later, when you get into the topics!
Time to work on your business planning!
In this chapter we get into numbers, strategy development and implementation, your legal set-up as well as your brand.
Financial freedom is essential for Digital Nomads - but is there a number behind it? How much money do you actually need per month to feel financially free?
We get into this question in this lesson and break down your cost of living as a Digital Nomad. From that point we derive the calculation of your hourly salary. One of the most important aspects of getting successfull as a Digital Marketing Freelancer.
The lesson finishes with my recommendations on risk management and budgeting.
Let’s get practical! Let me introduce you to my baby: My Target-Actual-Analysis sheet that I use every week/month to see if I’m on track with my business.
And you can use it as well!
Get it in the download section and open it while listening to the lessons. After this you can start to set your monthly goals and expected revenues vs. costs! (Real game changer and must have if you want to know your numbers)
The goals are set - now it’s time to bring them to life.
This is where strategy comes into play.
In the next lessons, I’ll walk you through the fundamentals of strategy and strategy implementation - why they’re crucial, how to develop yours, and how to put it into action.
We’ll also explore a practical example, using the SWOT analysis as a tool to craft a powerful game plan for your business.
Sounds like a business administration lesson? It kind of is, but codifying is key! Don’t think about starting a business without writing your concept down!
My recommendation: miro.com is a practical mind map and board for building your strategy.
We also use the 4P Marketing Mix as a practical approach to roll-out your strategy.
For resources you won’t need much: But my tip here is to invest into good equipment, especially the laptop and a second screen. Here’s my recommendation on a Digital Nomad Tech Starter Pack:
Entry Level (Social Media, Ads Management, Copywriting; less hardware demanding jobs): Mac Air M2
Intermediary Level (Photo-, Video- and Graphic Design): Mac Pro M3
Second screen (similar to the one I use)
I finish this lesson with talking about your responsibility of actively managing your goal achievement with the “Management Cycle” - Manager in the making! This is how we start.
If you want to know more about this topic, in the full course I’m doing a deep dive on everything about business planning!
If you haven’t done so, now is really the time: Decide the legal structure of your business and register it!
The first big question will be: National or international company structure? Well, this really depends on your current situation and near future plans!
In this video I explain which form I recommend for which of your following three constellations: You are
Still in your home country, residence still registered
Already on the road, still registered
Already on the road, de-registered
After this video you’ll get your hands on and will set up your company with which you’re legally making business as a Digital Nomad!
Need more decision help? Share your question on the thread and we’ll discuss! Also, I offer 1:1 consultations on the right business structure for you!
If you want to work with an international company structure right from the start, I recommend you to check out taxhackers.io, that have helped me with my LLC!
Your business is formally set up, now we put a name of it! Let’s brand it because branding is the art of differentiation.
There’s a lot of theory around branding, but we want to keep it as simple as possible. The first decision you want to make is, if you stick to a personal branding, do a corporate one or mix both forms.
Each approach comes with advantages and challenges, that I’m talking about in this video!
To express your brand there’s a set of brand elements you should define, including the logo, color schemes, fonts, wording and many more. I briefly talk about what makes each one suitable effective and powerful. Let’s shape your brand!
Some cool websites and tools you can use to give your brand an identity and face:
namesnack.com: Get you business a fancy name!
Looka.com: AI Logo generation that rocks
Color.adobe.com/coolors.com: Find fitting color palettes for your brand
fontpair.co: Matching fonts for your brand
dafont.com: All fonts and FREE
Let me know in the comments what you went for - excited to hear your brand name.
Your must important communication medium is your website. In this lesson we talk about how you effectively implement your branding on your website and what content has to be included to convey your value.
I show you the example of the freelancer Sylvia Ogweng. You can also check out my website Cool Ice Creatives.
Good news: You don’t have to do the website yourself. This is something you can easily outsource on freelance networks (later more to that) if you have a good briefing! If you need consultation on that, I invite you to book a 1:1 call with me!
If you want to do it yourself here are easy-to-use website builders. With those, Youtube Tutorials and (a lot of) patience, I’m sure you’ll get something nice done:
Wordpress with Elementor
Jimdo
Wix
Squarespace
Webbly
Canva (actually pretty good!)
Making process? Then share it on the thread! The website is a big milestone for your business!
Depending on your specialization and target audience also Social Media can make sense to roll out your brand. I always recommend Google Business (to get reviews) and LinkedIn to start with.
We finish this chapter with a checklist on the second part!
Your niche is specified, your skills developed, calculations made and your brand is astonishing: But what’s missing now? Of course, the clients and the cash flow.
The part where many are afraid of, but that’s easily manageable with the right approach. Because there’s a solution to our initial problem.
And this chapter is totally about that. We’re finding your first clients, assure quality in your projects and create customer satisfaction.
Here’s the outline:
Finding Your (first) Clients
Know your Niche and Target Audience
Prospecting + Outreach
Discovery+ Call
Proposal / Business Offer
Confirmation, Contract, Payment
Quality Assurance and Customer Satisfaction
And that’s the deal! Let’s start.
In this lesson I give you an overview of the 5-step-process and we start right away with a summary on your niche and prospecting+outreach: Where to find your clients and how to do that in the best way!
Did you know how powerful and important your personal network is for your client acquisition?
My breakthrough when I started my online business where freelance platforms. It was a coincidence, that a friend of mine told me about it in 2022.
It didn’t take long until I had my first jobs via freelancer.com and I think this can be also a Gamechanger for you.
In this lesson I tell about how to use those using the example of freelancer.com.
➡️ How you profile looks and how you edit it
➡️ Your Portfolio
➡️ How you browse, filter and apply for projects
Other freelancing platform you should check out:
fiverr.com
upwork.com
peopleperhour.com
Also check for local websites in your native language to secure yourself a competitive advantage!
The rule: The more websites you frequent daily and apply for jobs, the higher the chance, that you’ll get one! Quantity over quality at the beginning, don’t forget that!
Do you know any other websites, that I’ve missed here? Comment them on the thread!
Freelance Platforms are a game changer but only when used right. As I think for the beginning this will be your major acquisition way, I give you here some special tips, that come from my own practical experience.
My magic formula: Local Market + Bid in native language + perfect application + sponsoring!
A template for my “Template Application” that you can customize to your own needs and bids is in the download section!
If you want to tailor-made your application together that you can use from now on, feel free to book a 1:1 consultation call with me!
A proven way to attract new clients is also cold-messaging on LinkedIn or other business networks.
In this lesson I show you how you scrape your right clients with the advanced search tool on LinkedIn and give tips on how to approach them.
With all those channels, loosing overview on your acquisition efforts can happen. So integrating a routine and a tracking totally makes sense.
In this lesson I give you tips on how to keep a detailed eye on that and integrate acquisition into your daily business.
Especially at the start it totally makes sense to invest mayor time on finding your clients.
Also I give you some final tips and considerations on where to find your clients. And don’t tell me there are no out there - then you didn’t listen. Good luck on your seach!
Your prospect is hooked and you agreed on having a call.
In the discovery+ call we pave the way for our future business.
I show you what you should include, how you structure the call and some tips from my personal experience, how you can make this first call an extraordinary good one.
In the full course I give you further tips how to convert even better on your discovery calls!
Made a good impression? Then it’s time for your formal business offer to put a number on it!
I explain you how to structure this offer and how to make it convincing to really close the deal! Be aware: Your client will compare your proposal, so take an extra eye on your pricing.
You can find a template for a business proposal as I use it in the download section.
Congratulations, you sealed the deal! Make sure to get a written confirmation from your client in the last step. If needed, set up a contract and super important, make sure to get paid, because this is unfortunately not always the case in the freelance universe!
In this lesson, I give you tips on how ensure that also in this last step before starting your project everything goes right.
In the download section you can find a template for an invoice that’ll be usable in most countries with all legal information. Please don’t forget the logo and address!
I recommend you from early on to use a accounting software to send out your bills. I personally use Zoho as it’s free and has everything you need!
It’s time to start your first project! First of all, you can be very proud of yourself, because you convinced your first client and get the first cashflow going!
But you’re just starting. Now you have to perform. In this lesson I tell you why customer retention is so important for your business and how you assure this through an optimal quality assurance on your projects.
This includes:
Project Outlines and Management
How to go “the extra mile” and why it’s so important
Support Tools
The 3 Main Rules of Quality Assurance
Recommendations on Communication
Follow-Ups
Share your first project on the thread “Progress and Journey” (tagged below the lesson) - I’m excited to hear about it!
We finish the chapter with a sum-up and the checklist!
First client projects going - are you good?
Not quite! Because clients will drop out naturally due to various reasons, that means you regularly have to acquire new ones. A good portfolio just helps you so much.
That’s why in the first part of this chapter we jump into how to build an attractive portfolio for you.
So let’s check out a very well-designed portfolio: Daniele Buffa.
This doesn’t mean you have to use crazy design resources in your portfolio, but you can use his framework (where do I place which information ) to display your products.
And also this is no rocket science. Screen captures, Mock Ups, and some good punchlines can be used to display your projects and work in a very attrractive way.
Take this as an inspiration!
Your website is the must important medium to display your portfolio. But for certain audiences and sectors this also makes sense on social media.
This is not a must-have for the start, but I show you how Creative Hub Agency uses premade templates and mock-ups to be absolutely visually appealing on Instagram.
Now comes the last part of the Digital Marketing Blueprint, but also my favorite one. Because this is the stage that I’m currently in with my business.
For you, this is to be done once you feel comfortable with running projects and you have a certain stability to actually grow and scale.
In this lesson I give you definitions of streamlining, scaling and show you how freelancers get to a natural limit of growing their business just by hitting their time capacity.
We get into the organizational transformation from freelancer to (freelancer) entrepreneur and how this will solve the initial conflict.
Also, I explain to you efficient scaling potential, that I have used successfully for my business.
We start with Outsourcing as the biggest potential.
Outsourcing is one of the easiest to perform and biggest scaling levers, as it solves your initial time cap.
But Outsourcing is not suitable for all processes and not all outsourcing partners will bring you the performance that you need.
In this lesson we dive into how to structure your processes and tasks and how and to whom you outsource them to provide scalability while ensuring quality.
Repetitive processes have to be outsourced! I give you a selection of free and paid tools for your specialization that amazingly help you in streamlining those processes.
In the full course we’ll go deeper into this topic. Most of the named tools have top tutorials and usually have free trial periods.
The ones that I use:
Creator Studio
Mailchimp
Asana
Zoho
Zapier (the most powerful of all)
Especially as a “one man army” you can profit from those tools and should check them at an early stage of your business!
Since I started to use ChatGPT on a daily base my productivity but also quality of my output has been rising strongly.
In this video I show you in which areas as a Digital Marketing Freelancers you’re best supported by AI and where you should use it less or adapted.
For special prompts check out the full course.
Growing with your client’s budget generally means: The bigger your client’s marketing budget the bigger your share!
This especially goes for Paid Advertising/Performance Marketing or anywhere that you can be paid as a percentage share from revenue or cost.
For this you have to evaluate though, if a client will actually get to that point and it’s worth to put your time risk into that when you’re not paid with a fixum.
To understand it better, I give you an example for a premium service for a niche and a scalable ad campaign.
To summarize this chapter I want to give you my final thoughts on the topic contrasting scaling, making more money and your workload.
My advice: Your work-life-balance as a Digital Nomad should not suffer. Because of this we entered this path and not because we wanted to become rich!
Welcome to Chapter IV and congratulations on going from the business part to the fun part: Your new lifestyle as a Digital Nomad.
We’ll now talk about the things you need to take care of before you leave.
De-Registration + International Company structures (important for tax savings)
Travel documents and visas
Insurances
Savings
Vaccinations
Money access and banking from everywhere
Internet and phone Plans
Your travel gear
Legal tax freedom is one of the biggest financial perks of being a Digital Nomad!
In this first lesson about the topic I give you an overview and show you what are the actual advantages of signing off from your former home country and enter your “stateless” life.
Legally not paying taxes sounds dreamy: But how big the impact on your lifestyle is I want to illustrate you in a number example with changes on your net income, working time and effective hourly salary that you can charge to clients to secure a real competitive advantage.
We go on to the 4 Pillars, the requirements that you need for legal tax freedom:
Delivering a service that’s 100% online
Not having a residency (being a “Perpetual Traveler”)
Having an international corporate structure
Ambition to inform yourself
I finish the lesson with some considerations, what you actually lose when you give up your residency and why half of it is not as bad.
The de-registration process is often sold as complicated and tedious.
Fact is, that it’s way easier than you think and similar in most countries.
I outline you an exemplary process that probably also works for your current residency. So research the corresponding documents, steps on your governments official websites and start through.
Normally this doesn’t take longer than 4 weeks.
Taxhackers.io have step-by-step processes lined out. Check out their website and community!
For Germans: Meine deutsche Abmeldung habe ich gemacht, nachdem ich den kostenlosen Abmeldekurs von Taxhackers gemacht habe! Du findest den in der Community. Ist es absolut wert!
Out of the country, suitable for de-registration? Not quite.
There’s few requirements for a formally effective sign off, but those you should take care of carefully to not face complications later.
US-Citizens are facing an extra challenge and cannot use tax savings through living a nomadic lifestyle. However, there are exemptions, that I’ll briefly outline and talk about in detail in the full course.
In any case I recommend you to get professional support by a specialized agency like taxhackers.io and a local tax consultations for your (former) home country!
That was pillar number 2, now number 3 is your international business structure. As this course is not a “How to off-shore” or a legal advise, I’ll just give you a brief overview and tell you why the LLC is a very handy set up for Digital Nomads.
Your individual situation applies!
I show you an overview how my current set ups works. The LLC was done by taxhackers.io and they’ve also fully guided me through the process of the de-registration. If you want to benefit from their service, text me and I can send you a discount code.
The Escape Artist, is a blog that has a full section on Digital Nomadism. You can check it out to get more ideas on your future set up.
More practical stuff: How you get access to money everywhere? How to stay connected and what’s the Digital Nomad set-up regarding luggage?
In this lesson you get all the tips you need to start of with piece of mind.
My recommendations for your bank setup:
WISE (Business for LLC)
Revolut (For private Bank Account)
Payoneer (Business and/or private)
IMPORTANT: Never just travel with just one card!
Great E-Sim providers as a back up:

As you’ll see - it’s super easy and there’s even more advantages coming with that.
For Digital Nomad health insurance providers, here’s my list of recommendations:

We finish this chapter with a checklist on the topics until this point of Chapter IV.
Organizing a trip is one of the nicest activities for Digital Nomads and an absolute pleasant struggle (at least for me).
Still, there are some general directions and tips that make picking your (first) destination, booking transport and accommodation more efficient and also economic.
Chapter V is all about this!
The destination is crucial for you as a Digital Nomad. So it does make a lot of sense in which of the 197 countries you go first and within those to which place.
So I want to give you a set of criteria to evaluate your travel route aligning with your personal preference.
We start with digging into the evaluation of your preference. What do you actually want?
Then I guide you through the dimensions of each place along which you want to make your decision. These are:
Cost of Living / Geo Arbitrage
Climate
Security
Working Conditions
Community
Language
Accessibility and Infrastructure
Activities
Visa and legal requirements
Resources and information about places?
Check out:
theearthawaits.com (free)
nomads.com (former “Nomad List”, paid)
If you want to stay longer, I’ve just found this article that covers all the Nomad Visas in 2025.
At the end of the lesson with the utility analysis I give you a tool, how you can contrast two destinations based on your preference for certain dimensions and find the ones that you applies more.
It wouldn’t be my online course, if you wouldn’t get my personal recommendations. I’ve been to all of these places and can warmly recommend them for a smooth start.
? Lisbon (Portugal)
? Puerto Escondido (Mexico)
? Cape Town (South Africa)
? Bali (Indonesia)
Don’t be hard on yourself and pick an easy place, that is affordable and has a Digital Nomad community!
All the places I chose align with that and I give you a short overview of why they will be a great starting point for you!
Digital Nomads are kind of homeless, but of course they don’t sleep outside under bridges or in tents (very seldomly I’d say). They need an accommodation.
And also there are a lot of different choices to be made. In this lesson we dive into the different types of housing to accommodate your travel style: Hostels, Hotels and Airbnbs.
We elaborate on platforms to book economically and extra trips to save even more money on your rental.
Your go-tos:
booking.com and Google Hotels for short-term accommodation (hostels and hotels)
Hostelworld.com for Hostels all the way
Airbnb for short to mid-term rental
Flatio or Spotahome for mid-term to longterm rentals. (Compare well, sometimes Airbnb with longterm discounts is cheaper)
Facebook Groups or local rental websites for long-term rentals
Also I give you some more adventurous options on “free” accommodations, like house sitting or couch surfing. May favorite pics:
worldpackers.com: Worldwide voluntary programs
couchsurfing.com: Free accommodation on somebody’s couch
TrustedHousesitters: For house and sitting
Homeexchange: If you want to swap your house (also works with rented housing!)
Hit me up if you need personal recommendations for hostels in each country! I’m happy to share, if I’ve been of course.
Destination chosen? Then you need to arrive and also get around there!
Transportation and planning of transportation gets a natural part of your life, so you want to be smart and economic about it!
In this lesson I show you how to you book cheap flights with skyscanner.com, some essential air travel hacks and why traveling by bus can be an amazing and cheap alternative to explore countries (or even continents).
If you look for alternatives or even cheaper prices and more comparison options check out:
kayak
kiwi (cool as you can put multiple airport options and already include baggage for the price display. Also, kiwi let’s you book directly through their system)
google flights (a comparison of comparison portals)
Best address to plan your trip on land is rome2rio.com. Bustickets are available on busbud.com, where you can pay with Paypal and other international methods.
For car rentals I shot my bestdeals on rentalcars.com. (Never book directly at the counter! This website has it 300% cheaper!)
To finalize I give you my considerations on why only in some aspects a road trip can be a romantic and free way to explore!
Things get easier when you don’t do them alone - also, before you even get to your new destination. So in this chapter we talk about how to make early connections with people at the next place you go.
I sum up this chapter with personal recommendations on making new contacts and the checklist.
