    Anulom Vilom (Alternate Nostril Breathing)

    Meaning: "Anulom" = with the grain, "Vilom" = against the grain.

    Method:

    Sit comfortably with spine erect.

    Close the right nostril with the right thumb.

    Inhale slowly through the left nostril.

    Close the left nostril with the ring finger, release the right nostril.

    Exhale slowly through the right nostril.

    Inhale through the right nostril, then switch and exhale through the left

    Benefits:

    Balances Ida and Pingala Nadis (mental and physical energies).

    Calms the mind, reduces stress.

    Enhances oxygenation and mental clarity

    Sheetali (Cooling Breath)

    Meaning: "Sheetal" = cool or soothing.

    Method:

    Sit in a meditative posture.

    Roll the tongue into a tube and stick it slightly out.

    Inhale through the rolled tongue.

    Close the mouth and exhale through the nose. (If tongue can't roll, Sheetkari is the alternative—inhale with teeth gently clenched and lips parted.)
