Loading the reference image into the Paintology canvas to enable you find tones using the color picker and also create accurate outlines for drawings.
You can set the background color of the drawing using this feature. Make sure to do this prior to the drawing.
This short video will show you how to pick out colors using the trace bar and color picker.
We first block out primary colors to the fried egg image by using the color picker. If you are new to Paintology, please refer to the previous section on the quick short video guides on how to use Paintology.

With the blocking out of the way, we have the base colors reading for drawing the details, shown in the next lecture.
Drawing in the details can be tricky for this fried image which is mainly due to the subtle variations in the color tones.
I first refine the egg yolk and then try get more variations of the subtle tonal changes to the while and yellow.
The shade tool can leave a hazy edge to the drawing, so I swtich to the line tool to refine the edges. You can approach the drawing with your own style just to see the types of effects that can be created.
Don't feel disappointed if you are unable to get the results you are looking for, the important thing is to develop your techniques as you go along and this will help you to make your drawings better.
