Description
In this lesson I explain everything from the beginning to the end: how to build a composition, how to select and mix colors, how to think about and analyze the picture before the actual drawing (checklist included!), how to do the watercolour washes properly, how to use various watercolor techniques optimally and how to act when something goes wrong. And, of course, how to paint snowy mountains and skiing areas, how to use the critical for good image tone values, how to create contrasts by tone and color.
Materials needed:
I try to use a limited range and a minimum of materials, so you don't need a mountains of paint and thousands of brushes to draw this painting.
◽️Paints: Sepia, Cadmium orange (PO20 pigment), Raw Umber, Ultramarine, Cobalt Blue, Royal Blue
◽️Brushes: large soft squirrel/imitation, round or oval goat brush, small synthetic brush with a sharp tip
◽️Paper: for this subject paper is not essential, cellulose paper is also suitable, but I recommend 100% cotton, fin texture, density of 300 gr. (I have Saunders Waterford)
◽️Masking tape, can for water, paper towels, pencil and eraser

Instructor
Let me introduce myself: my name is Zadorozhnaya Anna, I’m a watercolour artist, Instagram blogger (@draw_better), tutor and official representative (ambassador) of Schmincke & da Vinci art brands. I live half in Russia (Moscow), half in Germany (Kassel), Russian is my native language, I have fluent knowledge of English and some skill in German.
Over the past year, I have painted more than 200 paintings with mountains, participated in numerous exhibitions, won many prizes in various competitions. I am a member of the International Federation of Watercolourists, I have a master's degree in art Oxford Brookes Univercity. I also conduct online and offline master classes both in Russian and English.
I draw every day and prove by my example: painting is a skill that can learn anyone. It doesn't depend much on talent: matters the amount of time, efforts and patience that you invest in the process of painting. And love, of course.
As a tutor I pay attention to the logical aspects of creating a watercolour paintings, and if you would use the criteria of tonal values, different types of contrasts, coloristic schemes, rules of composition, that I teach, you will definitely have.a great result.
