    This lecture will show you what you need and how to get started.

    When you have a quiet moment all to yourself is the best time to start this relaxing painting process. 

    Be guided by the first thing that comes into your head, go with what ever marks you feel like making and then follow your intuition with all the other mark you make and colours you choose.

    Don't be intimidated by a blank piece of paper, it's only paper and there are no expectations of what it should look like when you have finished. You don't have to do the same as me, what I demonstrate is just a process, with marks and colours which popped into my head. You may get different images come into your.

    EXERCISE

    How about playing about with marks before you start just to get into the swing of it.

  • Pick any colour you like to add to the marks15:42

    Now you are happy with the marks you have made start adding some colour. And remember let the colour choose you.

Requirements

  • An open mind without any expectations
  • Students will want to be happy to make marks and see where they take them.
  • All you will need is a dark colour marker pen, some water based paints or watercolour paints, a brush and some think paper or watercolour paper.
  • Be aware that this is not a 'copy me' process, I will simple explain how to start. You play and paint as you wish.
