Meet your teacher!
A lot of people have many questions about the supplies that come with oil painting. This video explains the supplies you'll need, as well as any that may not be necessary but make things easier. If you're an intermediate/advanced artist, or already know what kind of supplies you like using, feel free to skip this video.I forgot to add, you will also need canvas panels for the practice exercises if you choose to do them. Any size, any brand. Does not matter.
Here you can find a color wheel that I created, as well as an image I found that explains the emotions that can be provoked by certain colors, this file was created by another artist but is so very helpful.
Here you can find a video showing some examples of good practice exercises. These exercises are designed mostly for beginners.
Here we will discuss if you would like to use line work or not, in your painting. We'll also quickly go over the set up for your work environment.
You can find a transparent PNG file of the golden ratio, that you can download, and place over images of your artwork to help you find where the best placements may be for your focal points.
If you would like to learn about varnishing a painting, this is a quick video to show you how.
In this lecture you'll find some extra resources.
Have you ever looked at a painting and thought, it was so inspiring to you, you just wanted to create it for yourself? Or does the medium of oil painting confuse you? Come join this course to not only get a break down of how to use oil paint, but also paint along and create your own night scene landscape painting featuring the milky way over a pristine beach with the waves crashing on the shore.
Similar to a Bob Ross or paint night class, you will be painting along with your teacher to create a magical and inspiring piece of art. Addison treats the class as friends learning to paint together, so you never feel pressured.
While you are painting, you will learn the basics of oil painting, how to use the supplies, different techniques and some tips and tricks to help you along the way. The skills you learn creating this painting, will be applicable to any piece of art you create in the future, and will especially add to your knowledge of oil paint.
While this course is designed for beginners, even experienced artists may benefit from this course if they have ever struggled with, but had the desire, to create galaxy/milky way scenes and landscapes.
