Introduction to the artist Kellie Chasse and all my courses, my approach and how we learn and have fun.
I have been teaching art since 2007 in several forms including watercolor, acrylic, and alcohol inks. Helping to teach both the experienced artist and new people is very rewarding. I hope you enjoy the class and feel free to share your completed work with us.
This video covers all the materials you will need for the class. I try and use materials that are fairly easy to get, so you can jump right in and start enjoying the class. There is also a downloadable PDF of materials needed. Alcohol Inks are a Dye and were meant for Crafts not fine art; they are NOT lightfast, therefore UV Rays and Direct sunlight may fade colors.
Now we will begin working on a scene using Yupo paper. Let's tape down our paper and get started.
In this video we will cover your sketching steps. Please feel free to print off the PDF to use as a reference in Sketching.
Let's begin painting the sky, we will be adding layers and clouds in a few steps.
Let's begin adding a new shade of blue for the ocean.
The rocks have a number of washes and details, so let's start by adding the first layer.
Now let's add some more depth to the rocks.
It's beginning to come together, now let's start adding some lighthouse details.
We will be adding some reflections in the water.
Let's add some more layers to our rocks to really make them pop!
Now for all the final details!
Caring for our work of art is important and I will go over how to seal your new artwork.
Want to know what I use to display my work on tiles? I will tell you exactly where and how I display my alcohol ink works of art. This may give you more ideas or you can display your work similarly.
Thank you for taking this course, it would mean the WORLD to me if you would consider leaving a 5 star review.

Here are some recent reviews from my ART STUDENTS:
★★★★★ "EASY TO FOLLOW"
I have been a Bob Ross certified instructor for 26 years and I have taught in various venues. Kelly is very clear in her instructions and she makes it easy to follow what she is doing. The class is simple enough for beginners and yet she gives the student plenty of room for creating a little on their own. The instruction on the supplies was also clear and easy to follow.
~Cherly M.
★★★★★ "ENJOYED"
"I enjoyed doing this this painting. I am new to watercolor. Was able to follow, having to go back occasionally. Will probably do this painting several times just for the practice. I contacted the Kellie Chasse sight because of interest in alcohol oil painting. So will be an active student for awhile to come. Thank you for a great beginning!!"
~Kathleen F.
★★★★★ "BIG HELP"
"Because everything was explained so simply, and Kellie's painting in real time was a very big help. I intend to take more of her courses in the future."
~Jill B.
