In this course I will teach you step by step how to draw this beautiful owl with colored pencils on drafting film. The videos are all in real time, so no timelapsed parts. I show you the complete process and provide you with the lineart and reference of course.
And I name all the colored pencils I use. So draw with me! I’ve used the polychromos from Faber Castell. A wonderful brand of colored pencils, They are oilbased and work really well on drafting film, without the risk of waxbloom. Waxbloom can cause problems on drafting film because fixatives can cause problems on the surface , so I avoid to use them!
There is a list of colors included.
I work on grafix drafting film, but other drafting films can be used too. Some are a little smoother and take less layers. Besides that I use an eraser pencil from faber castell, sometimes an electric eraser (tihoo) and a wonderful tool is the ceramic knife. I use the craftsknife from Slice.
The reference is one from pixabay so it's copyrightfree.
I hope you'll have a lot of fun of the tutorial and make these techniques your own. In that way you can soon draw whatever you like on drafting film!
So let us color the world!

Instructor
Martine has attended art school in the Netherlands, this school was specialised in realistic oil painting; painting like the old masters did. But during this school period she totally fell in love with colored pencils. Colored pencils and their versatility fascinate her. Hyperrealistic drawings or more painterly abstract ones; fur, glass, water and so on, on different surfaces (drafting film, sanded paper, hot press water color paper), all have her love. She now teaches weekly colored pencil classes (online and normal lessons) , gives workshops and takes commissions. She also has two Patreon channels, where she teaches internationally in colored pencils and pastels and on the other digitally in Procreate!
