  • Getting honest about the impact of Coronawhelm in your life.20:26

All this social distancing, working from home, educating the kids, and listening to the news is more than overwhelming...it’s CORONAWHELMING! In this lesson, you will learn how to ...

    • Get clear about what is truly overwhelming you.

    • Identify emotions to describe what you're feeling.

    • Become present to any unhealthy ways you may be coping.

  • Releasing control, grieving the loss, and cultivating peace.13:05

One of the greatest reasons why we feel Coronawhelmed is because you and I love to control our lives...or at least live under the illusion that we’re in control. Author Byron Katie writes...

“If you want real control, drop the illusion of control; let life have you. It does anyway. You’re just telling yourself the story of how it doesn’t.”

In lesson two, you will have the opportunity to...

    • Grieving the losses and disappointment in this season.

    • Becoming present to the areas of life where you are truly out of control.

  • Embracing your power through positive thoughts, attitudes, and behaviors.10:51

As we slowly accept that we are out of control in so many ways...
As we stop the constant worrying of the outcomes...
    As we express our disappointment...
As we take time to grieve the losses in our lives...

My hope is that we will find more and more peace in our hearts. Ironically, peace comes as we admit our out-of-controllness rather than trying to put things back together the way they were.

As we grieve what we can not control, we must take the intentional step of embracing our power to control three things in our lives...

    • Our thoughts.

    • Our attitudes.

    • Our behaviors.

  • Taking action to intentionally grow in this unique season of life.14:55

Now that we have released the things we can not control and embraced our power by taking control of our thoughts, attitudes, and behaviors, now is the time to take action!

    It’s not an either/or situation.

We can grieve our losses, feel the disappointment, AND take action in our lives.

In order to take action during challenging times, it can be helpful to get a fresh perspective on our lives. Through the meditation, my hope is that you’ll rise up above the anxiety and fear to see the landscape of your life in a new way.

  • Making a daily plan to overcome Coronawhelm.18:39

The only way that I’ve been able to accomplish big goals or make a significant change in my life has been through the power of a daily plan. It’s all about my level of intentionality. As author Stephen R. Covey writes...

“The key is in not spending time, but in investing it.”

Time is going to pass one way or another. Today will be gone, and tomorrow will come. The question is, “How are you investing the one life you have?” If you are intentional about the way you invest your time, you’ll actually have something to show for it. Your investment of time can be seen in the form of...

    • Life-giving relationships.

    • An intimate connection with your partner.

    • A healthy body.

    • A vibrant spiritual life.

    • A mind that is open to new ideas.

    • A growing repertoire of skills.

    • The ability to laugh and experience joy.

    • A flourishing career or business.

    • And so much more.

ABOUT DAVID TROTTER:

After over a decade in non-profit leadership, I was burned out and broken down – in desperate need of re-launching my life. I had to find a way to re-discover my identity, re-invent my work, and re-imagine a new normal for my life.

Since that time 12 years ago, I’ve started and run a successful marketing business. I’ve produced and directed three award-winning documentaries on social justice issues that are important to our world, and my first scripted feature film was released in 2019.

I’ve written nine books and produced three photo books. I’ve been to India nine times to work on humanitarian projects – including a trip when my wife and I took our two children to serve in remote villages. Laura and I have been married 25 years, and we have two awesome kids – one in high school and one in college.

I am a transformation coach and host of Inspiration Rising, a podcast dedicated to inspiring women (and the men who support them) to rise up in life, love, and leadership. Through the Launch Your Life coaching program, I help women (and men) overcome difficult life transitions (divorce, empty nest, job dissatisfaction) and develop a workable plan to make lasting changes. For over 25 years, I’ve helped people get unstuck, clarify their goals, and take their lives to the next level through my leadership, speaking, writing, and filmmaking.
