Greetings! My name is Crystal Simmons, creator of the From Hurdle to Homeschool online personal development course. Here we are offering parents & guardians "A Segue Into Preparing Themselves for a Homeschooling Lifestyle". The overall purpose of this course is to provide a comprehensive "how-to" program that walks you through managing stress, engaging in social and emotional learning strategies, teaching academically and behaviorally, schedule building, and more, all of which encourages a successful homeschooling experience.
There was a sudden shift or force where parents, and other guardians were pushed into homeschooling or distance learning whether we were ready for it or not. Parents have been overwhelmed, stressed out, and at their “wit's end” as their children rely on only them, just one, possibly two unprepared parents to fulfill the roles the "village” ( educators, music teachers, art teachers, PE educators, dance instructors, librarians, etc.) would have fulfilled! But there’s no one out there saying, "Hey here’s what you need to do FIRST", “Here is a blueprint”, or “This is HOW you prepare for this lifestyle and make it a success” …UNTIL NOW!!!
After taking this course, the goal is for you to have acquired the skills, know-how, and resources necessary for resolving homeschooling challenges, and confidently become thriving parent-educators sooner by:
Implementing the foundations of knowledge and mental preparation.
Studying social & emotional-based learning.
Exercising scheduling management for activities and assignments.
Engaging in stress management strategies.
