Description
What is this course all about?
In my photo management business, I do a lot of specialty scanning for my clients. But that's just the start. Once those photos get digitized, they need to be organized, sorted and labelled appropriately if they are going to be useful to them for sharing. Otherwise its just a digital mess.
This course will show you how to use the free Adobe Bridge software to finally get those digital photos organized so you can find them when you want and share them with others. After all isn't that why you took them in the first place?
Although when you open up the software, it looks complicated and overwhelming, you only need to know how to do a few things in it to get the job done. I take you through the few functions that you will need to turn your digital chaos into calm.
Depending upon the goals you want to achieve with your digital photo collection, you can manage almost everything within this free software in just a few lessons.
I will show you the following:
Tour the software to show you only what functions are useful for photo organizing, simplifying the process.
How to change the orientation of an image
How to manage any duplicate photos left in your folders
How to create collections (albums) of your images
How to add colored labels, keywords and star ratings to your images
How to sort and filter your images

Instructor
I am a certified photo manager, business owner and technical instructor at the University of Saskatchewan. I am addicted to lifelong learning, pugs, and reading for pleasure. I became interested in photo and memory preservation when my father passed in 2015 and I realized that I had no videos of him singing and playing his guitar nor did I have access to any of my favorite photos of him with me for his funeral. All because I never took the time to scan or store them in the cloud. I regretted not having paid more attention and putting more effort into my photo collection and now I help others not to make the same mistake. I joined the Photo Managers Association shortly after and became certified. Now I help my clients to preserve, enjoy and share their photo legacies.
