Q & A
Explore Exadata configurations with OECA and OEDA, covering version, db server, RAC size, disk type, rack models, HC/EF storage, and 2- vs 8-socket licensing.
Explore the Exadata database machine architecture, detailing its hardware components, database servers, storage servers, and network switches, and how they interconnect in mid rack layouts across full and elastic racks.
Explore Exadata hardware architecture, including DB servers, cell servers, and the RoCe/InfiniBand network, Ethernet switch, admin network, and power distribution units.
Explore Exadata software architecture across computer and storage servers, grid infrastructure, asm and rdbms, with Libcell, Idb, and Rds Rdma offload over InfiniBand and RoCe.
Explore Exadata storage servers running Oracle Linux, with OS on two m.2 drives from X8 and data on twelve disks; cell server software enables smart scan, storage index, and IORM.
Explore Exadata SFC architecture, including read and write I/O paths, smart flash cache, Exadata smart flash logging, flash cache compression, and object pinning in write through and write back modes.
Discover how Exadata PMEM enables RDMA direct memory access to persistent memory, reducing latency and enabling writes through or write-back with flash and DRAM caches.
Explore Exadata networking architecture, detailing private, client, and administration networks, rdma, InfiniBand and RoCe interconnects, and how OEDA configures DB and cell servers.
Understand Exadata networking architecture by examining management and ILOM networks, InfiniBand and RoCe fabrics, leaf and spine switches, and resilient client networks with bonded Ethernet for database access.
Required Software
1. VMware
2. mRemoteNG
3. OS OEL 5.11 - Unable to attach the file as this more than 1G
Configure Exadata storage on VMware by creating flash and hard discs, forming cell and grid discs, and provisioning flash log, flash cache, and ASM candidate discs.
Install and configure two-node Oracle RAC on Exadata from scratch, including database node operating system installation, grid infrastructure, asm, ocr vote disk groups, and rdbms binaries.
Prepare networks, kernel parameters, and security limits. Install GIS binaries, create grid users and groups, configure the central inventory, and verify disks with kmfod and CVU.
Set up grid infrastructure display, run the grid installer, enable x11 forwarding with xming and putty, establish passwordless ssh, and configure asm with OCR and voting disks.
Install grid infrastructure services with root.sh on both nodes to create CRS, ASM, OCR, and voting disks, then verify daemons and finish post-install steps.
This lab covers a lightweight rdbms binaries installation on a two-node grid, detailing oracle user and group setup, inventory, and preparation for rdbms base and home before running the installer.
Learn to create a two-node RAC database on Exadata, configuring data and RECO disk groups, ASM, and client connectivity for robust clustered storage.
Like the well-known tale of the blind men describing an elephant, there are many conflicting perceptions about the nature of Exadata. Throughout the course I tried to describe in detail what exactly the Exadata without any misrepresentations. Everything is concise and accurate in simple English.
I'm a full-time DMA maintaining Exadata, GoldenGate and MSSQL Server in one of the leading Organizations. Like you, I'm also predominantly fighting with Exadata and GoldenGate issues on daily basis, collaborating meetings with Oracle for various products, dealing with licenses, along with day-to-day DMA and all-in-all Exadata support to the company.
You are learning from well experienced Professional. Just digest all the contents of this training, you will get 100% confidence to work on Exadata. Your confidence multifold as a DBA as you are becoming a DMA.
I have given step-by-step Quarter Rack Installation and configuration can be done in your laptop.
I have gone an extra mile explaining many other things related to Network/Storage/Linux. With this training, as a single fighter, you alone can efficiently work with Oracle ACS team while deploying Exadata in your organization from Scratch in your environment and lead a team.
Crystal clear explanation. I have put all my heart and soul to conclude many topics to give highly refined subject.
