Description

Modern applications never work alone. They pull prices from Oracle Fusion, post invoices to EBS, check the weather, send SMS and share data with other systems. In Oracle APEX, all of this happens through REST APIs, and this course teaches you how to do it properly, from the ground up.

We start with the fundamentals: what REST is, how a REST call works, HTTP methods, status codes, and where REST fits in the Oracle landscape. Then everything is hands on.

You will consume real APIs with REST Data Sources, understand endpoints, parameters and headers, and secure every call with Web Credentials using Basic authentication, API keys and OAuth2. You will parse JSON with JSON_TABLE and APEX_JSON, including nested objects and arrays, and turn live REST data into Interactive Reports, forms and Dynamic Actions that update without a page refresh.

Next, you will take full control with PL/SQL. Using APEX_WEB_SERVICE, you will make GET and POST calls, set headers, build JSON payloads, load responses into tables and handle errors the way production systems need.

Finally, you will switch direction and publish your own REST APIs from the Oracle Database with ORDS, using modules, templates, handlers and privileges, and see real integration patterns with Oracle Fusion and EBS.
