Oracle APEX: Mastering Process, Tasks approvals and Workflow

               Oracle APEX 23.2 has introduced a new Workflow Designer that integrates with existing Task Definitions - Approval & actions to facilitate the creation of workflows and the automation of business processes.

In recent times, application development often includes self-service features, which necessitate the incorporation of appropriate workflows and approval mechanisms. These not only enhance the understanding of business process flows but also ensure automation with sufficient checks and balances. This approach enables multiple stakeholders to participate in decision-making without compromising the functionality of self-service features.

Workflow and task approvals have become essential components of modern ERP systems. However, for custom-developed applications, integrating third-party workflow tools or building custom workflows can pose challenges. Third-party tools often present integration issues, while custom-developed workflows come with their own limitations. This is where native workflow tools offer a simpler and more efficient implementation option.

Oracle ERP applications have relied heavily on workflows and approvals since the release of version 12 in the early 2000s. Building on this legacy, Oracle has now extended its capabilities by introducing workflow and task definition as a native feature within Oracle APEX, further enhancing its integration as an Oracle product.
