In class 1 we give definitions of virtual learning and its types: live, asynchronous, and hybrid. You learn, how to define a customer journey for online learning process from both - student's and educational organization's points of view.
In lesson 2 we discuss the basics of capability maturity model; its application for online education assessment. Levels 1-2 are defined and discussed.
Lesson 3 deals with the first stable maturity level 3, or Defined. You learn, how to define attributes for CMM level3, their metrics, and prepare your university or college to upgrade to the Defined maturity level.
The 4th maturity level establishes direct connection of all procedures to an educational organization strategic goals, and ensures the baseline to continuous improvement and scalability.
In class 5 you learn the main procedures for organizing online study process from its start (pre-course activities) to "afterparty" post-course activities.
In lesson 7 you learn main requirements for technologies in online education: virtual learning environment - VLE - including live meeting software, VLEs, recording, audio. Some examples are given.
In lesson 7 you learn the main requirements to organizational and technical provisioning of virtual learning processes - from marketing and onboarding to technical support and after course support.
In lesson 8 you learn step-by-step procedure of self-assessment and formal audit of online educational organization.
In this additional lecture we deliver a one-glance overview of CMM model for virtual education.
Online education starts decades ago, and gained its enthusiasts and followers. But the massive shift to online learning happened in pandemic era. As shown in several research papers, after returning to normality, share of online, or virtual, education remains from 25 to 40% instead of 10-15% before pandemic.
In our course we define the capability maturity model (CMM) for online education, based on Online education skills Institute works. You learn specific attributes of real-time, or live; asynchronous and hybrid learning methods.
You learn the CMM model, its levels, and main attributes for levels 3 - Defined, and 4 - Improved.
You learn, which aspects of online educational process should be defined, what procedures should exist, and which metrics should be applied to evaluate quality of online education and baseline for improvement.
In our course we discuss:
- pre-course activities;
- methodology
- requirements to course delivery for each type of virtual learning;
- collaboration procedures;
- evaluation procedures;
- requirements to staff and technical support;
- main types of technical tools.
You learn, how to perform quick self-assessment to find procedures for improvement, and also how to prepare your educational organization - a university, or a college, or a business school, or a professional training organization to a formal audit and successfully pass the certification procedure.
