In this beginner course you will learn the most common techniques associated with oil painting. We'll look at materials and safety concerns, means of modifying the paint, and techniques of application. We'll look a bit at history and some contemporary examples. You will gain the knowledge necessary to apply the medium as well as to be able to better understand how an oil painting was made when you encounter it in a museum.

Instructor
I am a Toronto based painter working on large scale figures in fragmentary or dream like worlds. I have been painting for over 30 years and teaching for a decade. I work with a combination of acrylic, oil and collage methods and I have a deep interest in history, art history and the natural world. I have and continue to exhibit my work in Europe, the US and Canada.
