Description

This course highlights my capstone experience working in pediatric and hand outpatient therapy. During my capstone experience I created an educational program utilizing Google Classroom. The program is designed to equip both pediatric and hand therapists with essential concepts related to typical/atypical pediatric development and biomechanics of the upper extremity to ensure evaluations and interventions are tailored to the unique needs of pediatric patients with various tonal patterns. In this course you will receive free access to the Google Classroom and the documents and resources included. The documents and resources highlight topics such as: information on tone and terms related to tone, conditions with atypical tonal patterns affecting the upper extremity, review of upper extremity anatomy and physiology, pediatric development and milestones, assessments relevant to tonal patterns, treatment intervention ideas for pediatric upper extremity therapy, case studies, and helpful medical treatment interventions to understand when working with various tonal patterns. This course will take you through the needs assessment and literature review I completed in preparation for my capstone experience, the focus and goals of my capstone, information of the site I completed my capstone at, how I achieved my objectives, and a tour of the Google Classroom I created.
