Explore how systemic inflammation manifests across nearly every body system, with signs like migraines, brain fog, fatigue, mood changes, and stomach ache, irritable bowel syndrome, diarrhea, constipation, and bloating.
Explore how the innate immune system acts as the body's first line of defense, using physical barriers, chemical barriers, and inflammation to stop intruders, with the adaptive system providing backup.
Explore how free radicals drive inflammation and how antioxidants counter oxidative stress. Learn the impact of diet, processed foods, and exercise on antioxidant production and blood flow.
Identify processed foods as inflammation drivers and discover how reducing refined foods lowers chemical loading for a healthier, low-inflammation diet. Consider legumes, nuts, eggs, and nitrates based on sensitivity testing.
Phase 3 focuses on healing leaky gut and rebuilding microbiome while increasing movement, from longer walks to gentle yoga. It emphasizes glutamate, fermented foods, probiotics, oral health, and reintroducing foods.
Choose an enjoyable approach to eating for inflammation by embracing real food and mostly plant-based meals, avoiding gluten, sugar, and dairy, and planning weekly recipes.
Maintain a personalized nutrition plan through holidays and social gatherings, request gluten-free options when eating out, and consider digestive enzymes to mitigate occasional pro-inflammatory foods.
Reset when needed and continue along the six s path—diet, stress, movement, sleep, sun, and spirituality—to maintain anti-inflammatory health and feel your best.
Inflammation is at the root of almost every chronic health condition. The list of symptoms of systemic inflammation is a lengthy one including joint and body pain, weight gain, brain fog, anxiety and depression, digestive problems, migraines, skin issues and persistent fatigue to name a few of the more common ones. Inflammation is at the root of almost every autoimmune disease as well.
In this course, we are going to cover how to heal inflammation naturally using food as medicine and integrative medicine practices such as meditation and exercise. We will begin with understanding how the immune system works, then discuss inflammation when it is doing what it should and when it is not. We will discuss what causes inflammation, leaky gut syndrome, dysbiosis and how to determine where your “weak link of inflammation” is. Students will learn what foods to avoid, and how to create a diet plan that works right for them.
I too used to suffer from inflammation-related issues. I had brain fog, fatigue and skin issues. I was on the edge of adrenal fatigue and burnt out. As a practicing Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, this was hard for me to accept, but it was my reality. I used the principle and techniques in this course to heal myself, and hundreds of my patients.
