A high level view of the key distinguishing features of NLP from it's Origination to the emphasis of subconscious Process over Content.
We examine the phrase Neuro Linguistic Programming, which can be seen as a model of the therapeutic process.
NLP pre-supposes these fourteen statements are true, as empowering beliefs and a helpful map of reality. They are ingrained into every aspect of NLP, and this course.
Rapport is critical to NLP, including rapport with Self and rapport with others.
Rapport is aided by understanding the preferred representational systems of ourselves and others.
We can make conscious use of representational systems to help therapeutic interactions.
Three prerequisites and three key ways to use matching to gain rapport.
Rapport isn’t about conscious matching and following. It’s about conscious mismatching, with subconscious matching, to pace, then lead.
The ‘well formed outcomes’ process gathers information about the clients subjective map of reality, and can be used as a ten step tool for initial client interviews.
During the interview, clients will also reveal internal subconscious tendencies called metaprograms. We will look at the top three for therapists.
We look at events through a frame of our subjective perception that gives them a meaning. Reframing changes the way you look at the same event through a different frame to give it a different meaning.
Reframes we can use starting during the client interview, often based on the fourteen presuppositions.
The meta model is a tool to gather information, clarify meaning and challenge limiting beliefs, assumptions or frames with specifying questions., to recover Generalisation, Deletion and Distortion (GDD).
Submodalities are part of how our neurological experience is programmed into our client's memory and subconscious, which affects their map of reality.
Anchors are central to NLP. They are ‘fired’ by a sensory stimulus that causes a Neurological reaction, creating an instant Programmed response, before we can make a Linguistic assessment.
What to do and not do while anchoring.
The steps involved in setting anchors.
Emotion Spin Flip is an advanced tool we can put into action with our client in the first session. As a teaching tool, Emotion Spin Flip allows me to demonstrate many NLP key insights and tools together in one exercise.
An initial overview of the physical steps involved.
A full demonstration of all the steps, with commentary, where strong emotions at the core of the clients issue.
A full demonstration of all the steps, with commentary, where emotions at part of the clients issue.
A full demonstration of all the steps, with commentary, where thoughts and blocking of emotions are at the core of the clients issue.
This breakdown will go over possible client reactions that are not covered in the demonstrations, and go into depth on some aspects on that I mentioned during the commentary on the demonstrations.
What to do if the client is avoiding or blocking the bad feeling.
The importance of break states, what to do and what not to do.
More key aspects of the Emotion Spin Flip technique to ensure you do.
Fast Phobia Technique that I prefer to call the Traumatic Emotion Technique, because it can be used for most therapeutic clients. It is is another core technique because it encapsulates in one process, many of the insights and tools of NLP
Clients can be hesitant before doing this technique. We can do another short pre-talk and client interview to prepare and introduce the session.
Since this is a new session, we want a quicker version of a client interview to catch up on their real world results since our last session. And to prepare them for the techniques we will use in this session. This uses as an example, the client featured in the next demonstration.
We deal with Rob's fear of snakes, and the causative event 42 years ago with Rob's father, that created serious family issues finally getting compassion and forgiveness.
See how Rob did, with his report weeks after our session.
We have used anchors to overcome negative block general emotional states, now we can address the specific causative events that created those states.
Learn the steps, and have a personal audio-visual experience.
The client and therapist can both take for granted or not notice that they have chosen to stay exclusively with one perceptual position, when there are three perceptual positions to choose from.
Learn the steps, and have a personal audio-visual experience, or learn a case study through a visual story.
A swish speaks to the subconscious mind in it’s language of symbols, images, sounds and feelings. It is a VAK way of saying - don’t do that, do this. It helps us end this session, and set up the next session.
The Visual Squash helps us test for inner conflicts around the issue or its resolution.
We go through the steps of the Visual Squash with a demonstration about relationships - should I stay or should I go.
We go through the steps of the Visual Squash with visual stories and case studies based on other popular applications of the technique.
The Meta Mirror helps us examine problematic relationships, that can be romantic or between family, friend, colleagues or others. This is a popular primary reason to have sessions. We do this in the third session, because we first deal with our inner relationship with our states and thoughts, then deal with our external relationships.
We go through the steps of the Meta Mirror with visual stories and case studies based on popular applications of the technique.
We go through the steps of the Meta Mirror with a demonstration about a relationship between a mother and son.
Now we use Modelling Generator to install new patterns to move forward. This helps us connect with abilities we can use in future.
We make new behavior habitual by doing it repeatedly and adding it to our mental map. Mentally rehearsing behaviors can help motivate us to take those actions, and help with programming them into our neuro-logical system.
Neurological Levels is a tool we can use to model the layers or levels of our being. It is often used to check to set detailed goals taking into account these levels, and to ensure the levels are in alignment.
This demonstration shows how we can access and therefore align all levels of our inner resources, which makes us more resourceful in dealing with previous conflicts in a professional environment.
This exercise helps check the well formed outcomes we set in the first session are aligned, helps integrate all that we have in the sessions so far. Learn the steps, and have a personal audio-visual experience, or learn a case study through a visual story.
Congratulations, you made it to the end!
NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) can be used as a healing modality in it's own right, or as a complement to your current therapeutic modality, like hypnotherapy, life coaching, counseling or CBT, or healing modalities like reiki, energy healing and spiritual healing.
This course lays out a carefully structured healing journey, based on the insights and tools of NLP.
It can help you deal with spontaneous issues that arise during your core modality, related to the mind, emotion and spirit.
It also lays out an intentional program you can take your existing clients from other modalities through, so you can offer them more sessions, add more value, and gain more income.
The manual lays out a practical session plan and script you can use word for word in sessions with your clients.
The videos;
a) present and explain the insights and techniques.
b) demonstrate the key techniques, with students from a live training, including commentary on possible variations.
c) present exercises , to give you an interactive audio-visual experience of key techniques.
Levels: The course is for "All Levels", because it establishes some Beginner concepts relevant to therapists, then quickly builds on these to an Intermediate then Advanced level.
This course will be understood at each level by therapists, because of their related experience.
This course covers material from NLP Practitioner and NLP Master, and is applicable for those who already done both of these, because it goes deep into some core advanced techniques, with a specific and application to specialist therapy applications.
The Program Structure covers;
Pre-Session: Insights; Rapport is essential to NLP.
This section starts with getting into rapport with yourself as a therapist, using the Presuppositions of NLP and Representational Systems personally and in Rep Systems in Communication.
To start gaining rapport with the client, we cover Matching and Pacing and Leading.
First Session A; Emotions. First, we address the emotion at the core of the issue.
We use the Well Formed Outcomes to run the initial client interview.
We observe the client's Metaprograms, Frames and Presuppositions that contribute to their map of reality.
We use the Meta-Model for initial shifts to Submodalities, and start to set Anchors.
First Session B; Emotion Spin Flip Technique. This is a compounding technique, that combines many tools of NLP into one technique. It can create powerful breakthroughs in the very first session, and lays they basis for the deep rapport required for the next sessions.
This brings together Stacking Anchors, Collapsing Anchors, Metaphor Modeling, Perceptual Positions, and Submodality Change.
This critical technique is given three full demonstrations to cover three very different clients, and issue types.
Second Session; Thoughts. Next, we address the thoughts around the causative event.
We deal with events that created strong emotions, using Fast Phobia, which could also be called a 'Traumatic Emotion Technique', and Change Personal History.
We look at the therapeutic issue, and the relationship with themselves, with Perceptual Positions.
We conclude this session with the Swish Pattern.
Third Session; Programming. Finally, we address habitual patterns, and move forward with new behaviour.
We test for inner conflicts around the issue or its resolution with the Visual Squash.
We look at the relationship with others with the Meta Mirror.
We use Modeling and the New Behavior Generator to install new patterns to move forward.
We close with Neurological Levels to align the client at all levels, as they leave to return to their environment with their inner resources fully integrated.
