In this second module we will delve into the study of Neuroscience and a fundamental topic for any student who begins his study in this discipline, what is the difference between the brain and the mind?
When you finish it, you are expected to be able to:
Recognize the difference between the brain, the organ (hardware) and the mind (software), the functioning that "emerges" allowing you to have a unique and unrepeatable identity.
Know the theory of the "triune" brain that will allow you, conceptually, to know 3 large groups of functions of your mind.
Understand the origin of Cognitive Neurosciences, its main objective as the study of the brain and the relevance of technology for the advancement and continuous discovery of the great questions of humanity.
Reflect on your mind and the way it develops from all the connections that you have generated through your experiences.
We hope it is a good start to the course.
In this third module we will pay attention to the current paradigm of Neurosciences within the scope of the organization. What disciplines are already being incorporated to add value and contribute to the development of companies?
When you finish it, you are expected to be able to:
Recognize the disciplines based on Neurosciences that are part of the current organizational resources.
Know the meaning and repercussions of the term Neurosciences "applied" to the organization.
Understand the focus of study and some examples of the 3 main disciplines, neuroeconomics, neuromarketing and neuroleadership.
Reflect on the relevance, pros and cons of including neuroscientific knowledge and practice in the field of organizations.
This module will give you a general idea of the organizational context and its main opportunities and complexities with respect to the study of the brain.
In the fourth module we select 3 principles of Neuroscience that are the basis for understanding the functioning of the brain and mind, especially for development and learning.
When you finish it, you are expected to be able to:
Recognize the process of neuroplasticity, Hebb's law and the concept of connectome, as bases for development and learning.
Know the different types of neuroplasticity: synaptogenesis and neurogenesis, their functions and differences.
Understand the relevance of neurogenesis in leadership development and training.
Reflect on your own connectome, to propose a change of habit that you want to undertake.
This module will give you the first bases of neuroscientific knowledge to continue with the application modules.
We start a new section, where we will focus on YOUR self-knowledge and metacognition. It means that you will begin to know class by class different aspects of your personality, motivation, values and other cognitive systems that are at the base of your current behavior.
In this fifth module you will learn what personality is, you will delve into the concept of the connectome to finally discover the importance of cognitive flexibility.
When you finish it, you are expected to be able to:
Recognize your connectome as the sum of the connections you are currently having and that allow you to model who you are.
Know the different factors that intervene in your current connectome and personality.
Understand the relevance of genetics and experiences in the development of your personality.
Reflect on life experiences, as the basis of your current identity.
Take advantage of the module to start a journey for your self-knowledge that will doubt until the end of the course.
In this sixth module you will work on the diagnosis and self-knowledge of your personality, by using a tool called MBTI, which will allow you to learn more about one of the most relevant elements in predicting your behavior.
When you finish it, you are expected to be able to:
Recognize the main characteristics of your personality and MBTI type, at 4 levels: how you handle energy, what you perceive best, how you make decisions and the environments you prefer.
Get to know yourself more in depth to focus your efforts on the areas of personality that you most require in your current position.
Understanding your strengths and weaknesses will allow you to better relate to peers, subordinates, and bosses.
Reflect from a position of "observer" having a superior knowledge of how you think and act (metacognition).
This module will continue to provide information to increase your level of self-knowledge but also that of others, clients, subordinates, colleagues or superiors.
In this seventh module you will dedicate yourself to continuing to develop your self-knowledge, specifically your value scale, to learn even more about the way you make decisions in your life.
When you finish it, you are expected to be able to:
Recognize the importance of the different types of memory systems in shaping your identity and its relationship with values.
Know the different types of values: instrumental - terminal and their genesis.
Understand the relevance of knowing your values to increase the level of awareness about your decisions.
Reflect on the possibilities that your current scale of values opens or closes.
This module will give you an even deeper view of your self-knowledge, incorporating the value element into your "box" of tools, with the aim of continuing to develop yourself.
In this eighth module you will immerse yourself in the world of motivational systems to expand your knowledge about the different existing motives and to know your motivational profile.
When you finish it, you are expected to be able to:
Recognize the BAS activation and BIS inhibition systems, as the basis of motivation.
Get to know yourself about your different motives based on the diagnosis of your motivational profile.
Understand the relationship between motivation and incentives.
Reflect on the motivation they currently have in your organizational or work context, contrasting your motivational profile with the incentives you currently have.
This module completes the phase of self-knowledge of the main 3 cognitive systems: personality, values and motivation.
In this ninth module we begin to work in a leadership context where the social brain begins to act together with the executive functions.
When you finish it, you are expected to be able to:
Recognize one of the most relevant cognitive systems involved in the exercise of leadership: executive functions.
Get to know yourself based on your situational leadership styles.
Understand the impact of each style on your collaborators or colleagues: transactional, transformational and "let go".
Reflect on the development possibilities you have regarding your leadership styles in order to exercise it more effectively.
This module will give you the first look at the brain in interaction with other brains, what you will know as social cognition.
In this tenth and last we will study the social brain or as it is known in the neuroscience environment: social cognition, a system that encompasses all the functions to relate, and of course, exercise leadership.
When you finish it, you are expected to be able to:
Recognize social cognition as the system that encompasses all the processes necessary to relate to yourself and others.
Know yourself in your levels of empathy and theory of mind.
Understand the positive and negative impact of the development of empathy in the context of the exercise of leadership.
Reflect on the way in which you are relating socially in your work or organizational environment to propose a development plan.
With this module we say goodbye and we hope that it has been a pleasant and challenging experience of self-knowledge and metacognition.
On behalf of FLUENT MOMENTUM we welcome you to the course, the main theme of which will be Cognitive Neurosciences applied to the organizational environment and the enhancement of leadership.
Are you interested in the theory behind, personality formation, motivation, values and organisational excellence?
For more than a decade, management has been working synergistically with neuroscience research in organizational fields, allowing the development of more effective talent development strategies, measuring and making more evident the biological mechanisms through which their leaders and collaborators coexist with uncertainty, they regulate stress and emotions, make decisions and mobilize people. The study of the brain is no longer detached from the development of leaders, who find in neuroscience a source of innovation for the creation of new ways of developing people, and although there is still a long way to go, science already has some answers to questions as are the functioning of the brain in the face of digital changes or transformations, so common in our days. Where the impact and influence of people is studied but this time, with the brain in "mind".
Through new tools and techniques, it is possible to diagnose and understand the different types of mental models, motivations, types of intelligence, individual cognitive roles and teams to exercise increasingly effective leadership. We invite you to be part of this experience, which surprises and captivates more and more people related to leadership or organizational consulting.
This course was born out of a desire to make this information simple and accessible, the dichotomy between a physical organ and the mind hides questions that, as they are revealed, allow us to learn a little more about what happens in the brain and mind of the leaders, as well as your own. At FLUENT MOMENTUM we hope this proposal amazes you as much as it did us, we want to bring you closer to the intricate highways of interconnected neurons, closer to the sense of awe ignited when we face the reality that we’re only just beginning to understand a small percentage of the seemingly limitless functions of the human brain and mind.
Welcome to this challenge, one that will allow you to better understand yourself, and how we can better lead in organizations with the brain “in mind”.
