Description

Life at sea comes with unique demands — long hours, responsibility, distance from home, and constant exposure to stress. This course is designed to support seafarers in navigating these challenges with greater awareness, calm, and resilience.

The course is structured into three core modules: Stress, Focus, and Communication at Sea. Each module include - short talk, guided meditation and journaling & reflection exercises, creating space not only for understanding, but also for personal insight and practical application during a voyage.

In the Stress module, you will explore common sources of stress in the maritime environment and how stress shows up in everyday life at sea. A guided meditation supports awareness and grounding, while reflection prompts help you recognise your own stress signals and patterns.

The Focus module is dedicated to mental clarity and presence, especially important during watchkeeping and demanding operational tasks. Through a focused talk, guided meditation, and journaling, you will learn simple ways to steady your attention and prepare your mind for work at sea.

The Communication module looks at one of the most complex aspects of maritime life. It includes dedicated talks, guided practices, and reflection exercises for communication on board — with crew members, officers, and maritime institutions — as well as for communication with loved ones at home. This module supports clearer, calmer, and more conscious communication across distance and pressure.

The course is designed to be watched and practiced during a voyage. All practices are short, practical, and easy to follow, supporting your wellbeing wherever you are at sea.

  • Seafarers of all ranks and experience levels who want to better understand and support their wellbeing while working at sea.
