The How to's to dive deep into connecting with the natural world
Safety is always a priority on any time outdoors. Be sure to have all you need on your walk however knowing your area and the plants, animals and landscape is important for your overall safety. Remember it's easier to take layers off then to put them on, dressing for the right weather will make all the difference in your immersion with nature because you will be focused on the relationships on not your needs in the moment.
It may seem like a lot at first but once you get the idea of choosing a place close to home to build these connections and making them easy to access will greatly benefit your sit spot time. These sit spots are where deep connections begin to happen and we begin to awaken to the natural world around us with curiosity and wonder.
Sit spotting is a mindful way to immerse yourself in your surroundings.
Connecting to our breath and our heart is a big part of nature connections. Understanding we are part of this natural world and that our heartbeat and our breathe are part of everything around us. Diving deeper into our other senses we begin to build our relationships and notice what is noticing us.
Nature Journaling is a way of keeping memories and learning new things about your new natural friend. Like a regular journal these document your thoughts, feelings and questions. You can doodle sketch, or even place natural treasures in your nature journal. This is a free space to cultivate your relationships with the natural world.
John Muir Laws has extensive videos and resources on natural journaling for those who wish to dive deeper into that relationship.
A meditation to lighten your day or night and connect with the universe around you.
Nature and art go hand in hand.
Plant safety with harvesting is crucial to your health and wellness. Harvesting the wrong plant can lead to an unwanted trip to the ER at your local hospital.
Tea Ceremony is vital part of each walk or time in nature. It is a way of ending the walk, and giving thanks in your own special way. It also helps you get back into your mindset so you are not off wandering around in liminal space. lol
This is a vitural Nature and Forest bathing walk, For resources I added a 7 day Nature ritual guide. I invite you to continue with these rituals as well as creating your own. These are your sacred spaces and your gifts to yourself and the natural world. Creating a relationship by creating :)
