This short course introduces evidence-informed approaches to nutrition, herbs, supplements and lifestyle methods in the holistic management of acne.
The course does not confer any license to practice nutrition but it is accredited as a 2-hour CPD training by the IPHM (International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine) if you email the Hippocratic Institute upon completion. All participants receive a Udemy attendance certificate. The course is therefore suitable for self-help and as a CPD for practitioners.
Topics covered include:
· The pathophysiology of acne
· The role of the skin microbiome
· The connection between gut health and skin
· Hormonal influences on acne
· Dietary and nutritional approaches for acne prevention
· The impact of lifestyle and stress on acne
· Natural topical remedies
· The importance of pH balance and skin barrier protection
· Holistic healing techniques including mindfulness and lymphatic drainage
· Developing a personalized, science-based acne management plan.
In parts 1-4 we cover acne pathology from a biomedical perspective, and couple this with the evidence-based effects of diet, herbs, supplements and lifestyle treatments & exercises. Because of this you will learn why these therapies work, and how to construct a protocol for yourself and your clients rather than painting by numbers. This offers an opportunity for an assignment in part 5 which allows you to make a bespoke method to manage acne based on your individual needs.
