In this course, we will take your understanding of music theory to the next level, covering more advanced topics such as key signatures with up to four sharps and flats, intervals with accidentals, primary triads, four-part harmony, perfect and plagal cadences, rhythm invention, transposition, and melody writing. You will also explore musical forms like rondo and expand your knowledge of musical terms. Students will learn more forms of intervals with accidentals. Such as accidental on upper note or on lower note.
Students will learn major and minor scales up to 4 sharps and 4 flats.
Students will learn 7 technical names on each degree note from a scale.
Student will learn tonic , subdominant and dominant chord in root position and first inversion.
Student will learn 4 voice range for composition and how to write a chord into 4 part harmony.
Student will learn how to write perfect cadence into 4 part harmony.
Student will learn how to write plagal cadence into 4 part harmony
Student will learn the grouping of 2/2, 3/2, 3/8 and 9/8 time.
Student will learn how to compose rhythm pattern from a given poem.
