Course Description – MPLS VPN Technologies (CCIE Routing & Switching)
MPLS VPN is one of the most widely deployed technologies in modern service provider networks. It enables scalable, secure, and efficient delivery of customer VPN services across large carrier backbones. Because of its importance in real-world environments, MPLS VPN is also a key topic tested in the CCIE Routing and Switching Version 5 exam.
This course is designed to take you from the fundamentals of MPLS technology all the way to advanced MPLS Layer 3 VPN configuration. It covers the control-plane and data-plane operations of MPLS, label distribution, VRF design, route targets, MP-BGP, and end-to-end VPN provisioning. Each concept is explained with clarity and supported by practical lab demonstrations.
The training is delivered by a dual CCIE-certified expert with more than a decade of hands-on experience designing and troubleshooting MPLS networks in production environments. The course includes real-world scenarios that help you understand how MPLS is deployed by service providers and how engineers handle routing, traffic flow, and VPN provisioning challenges.
In addition to core MPLS VPN topics, the training introduces updated technologies such as Traffic Engineering, RSVP-TE, and Layer 2 VPNs, giving learners a broader understanding of modern MPLS capabilities. The course also focuses on how MPLS integrates into existing routed environments and how various MPLS-based services are configured and validated in practical deployments.
This course provides both foundational knowledge and advanced skills, making it valuable for network engineers preparing for the CCIE exam as well as those working in service provider or large-scale enterprise environments.
