Description
Welcome to another course of “Creative Self-Care”, of how to make and use visual aids that help cultivate new habits and encourage more compassion and personal growth. I find that there are so many benefits to mixing some type of artsy activity or project with taking better care of ourselves, both physically and emotionally. This course dives into both of these cause if we feel good emotionally, we will be paying more attention to feeling good physically as well and vice-versa. What a win!
In course you’ll get to:
- Create some cloud shaped cards, through different mix-media materials
- Think about some of your recent negative thoughts or feelings
- Learn to be aware of them and pay attention to them
- Express them on paper
- Reflect on what or how you want to feel instead
- Write down your wishes and positive words to tell yourself
- Decorate a “cloud jar”
- Learn how to use these clouds in your everyday life
- The amazing benefits of creating some type of visual aid in conjunction with self-care
This course is for:
ANY and ALL levels of art. Anyone passionate about using their CREATIVITY to spark a little more joy and motivation to progress in SELF-CARE.
Materials needed:
- Grey card paper (or grey paints)
- White print paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- An empty jar
- Cotton or make-up swabs
- A pen
So for this project/class, you will DESIGN and CREATE your own little CLOUD JAR and PERSONALIZE it for your own FEELINGS and EMOTIONS, as you practice letting go of the negatives and welcoming and inviting the positives. Who this course is for:
- This course is for anyone who gets easily swayed and emotionally affected by things around them. Anyone willing to take some time for themselves, to pay attention to their feelings and emotions and find a practice that works for them in a beautiful and personal way, willing and open to try something new, even if at first it seems simplistic or childish. Try it out and see where it takes you. .
Instructor
I was born in France and now live in a little countryside village in Alsace, France.
I lived abroad most of my life, soaking up a variety of experiences and adventures around the world, which have enriched my life with culture, ethnicity, languages, and more.
My earliest memories as a child include drawing, especially portraits and flowers. As the years passed, my passion for art flourished and I have now illustrated many children’s books and taught art for kids since 1999. Today, art is still one of my joys.
Returning to live in Alsace in 2011, and being surrounded by its beauty and charm, amazing architecture, nature, and culture, has inspired me to express it through my art. I am reliving a small glimpse of what my grandfather experienced as he painted Alsatian villages and portraits. And through sketching, drawing, and coloring in my whimsical style, I am learning to depict some of the wonders of this beautiful place called Alsace.
More recently, I've been experimenting with Self-care and this has started me on an amazing journey as I explore incorporating my love for art and creativity with the need for physical and emotional well-being. I've experienced firsthand the results and rewards from paying attention to my health through self-care, and with a slower and more mindful way of living. That's why I've created some courses on this topic as well, realizing that all of us could do a little better with taking care of ourselves, so that we can have an even greater impact on others, and most of all feel a renewed sense of JOY and PEACE.
