Dr. Jane Talkington bridges being a practitioner in industry with being an educator in higher education. Her sustainability career began as a de-technical writer in the green building industry – translating complex science into understandable terms. She wrote for national magazines, architecture/urban planning firms, and building science consultants. Her latest sustainability books are available on Amazon: for instructors: A Study Guide Questions for Paul Hawken's The Ecology of Commerce: A Declaration of Sustainability and for university leaders and economic development planners: Fostering Innovation.
Jane Talkington is uniquely qualified to teach "the science of business." She holds a PhD in Environmental Science/Sustainability and a BS in Marketing both from Oklahoma State University and an MBA from the University of Tulsa. Academic research areas intertwine two fields: sustainability and innovation. A list of innovation districts and innovation campus developments is shared freely as ‘open source’ on her blog. She is in the teaching collaborative using Drawdown: The Most Comprehensive Plan Ever Proposed to Reverse Global Warming.
