In this section, you will learn to quickly assess general core stability and flexibility of a prospective yoga student. In addition, you will be able to provide the yoga student with recommendations for modifications to their asanas with the use of appropriate props or pose variations to accommodate any musculoskeletal limitations.
Finally, you will be able to give the student a “take home” chart of recommendations so they can incorporate them easily into a home practice or practice in another setting

This is Part 2 of the Yoga Asana Practice Screen Assessment.
In this module you are introduced to the foundational FYT Method for safe yoga practice entitled: BAMA (Breath, Awareness, MoStility and Alignment. You also are instructed in the application of YAPS (Yoga Asana Practice Screen) a 5-15 minute screening tool to assess the yoga student’s capacities to participate in a yoga practice.
You will learn:
• How to incorporate the principles of BAMA into the yoga practice to keep your student safe and efficient in addressing movement and movement impairments.
• To quickly assess general core stability and flexibility of a prospective yoga student
• To provide the yoga student with recommendations for modifications to their asanas with the use of appropriate props or pose variations to accommodate any musculoskeletal limitations.
• To provide recommendations for specific asanas to address any limitations in flexibility or core strength
• To give the student a “take home” chart of recommendations so they can incorporate them easily into a home practice or practice in another setting
This Module can be taken as a stand alone course or as a part of the 5 modules in the Yoga Corrective Exercise Specialist Program with FitYogaTherapy.
