Let's just take a quick look at what this course includes and exactly how we're going to get there with a breakdown of the sections ahead and the content we'll be exploring.

This workbook will help you to chronicle your journey through the Advanced Course content. It's an offline PDF version of the course training material - you can read it on a tablet or desktop computer and it's a great way to take in content if you like to pace your learning.
It's also an interactive PDF - text boxes and form objects are embedded into the workbook that will allow you to enter your thoughts and discoveries as you go from topic to topic. I recommend having a copy of your natal chart on hand as you progress so you can reflect and and experiment with the new chart points and content and use the workbook as a digital diary to record your thoughts.
Working with and completing the workbook will better prepare you for the final course exam - a 70 question quiz with multi-choice and multi-selection questions and a 1 hour time limit and a required pass rate of 85%.
The workbook includes direction on how to add new chart points in astro.com, Solar Fire and Time Passages and is your tool for working with and absorbing the new course content.

We've already begun using the astrology chart without actually understanding how it comes together or why it looks and functions the way it does.
It's important to have a solid grounding in the anatomy of the chart and why astrologers chose this model before proceeding so we'll tick that box in this lecture. Knowing this stuff will make you a better astrologer and will provide a lead in to the content coming up in future lectures.

Let's start this section with a quick brief of the content ahead.
2-1 DC, MC & IC9:43
The Descendant, Midheaven and the Nadir provide the cardinal energy that sets the chart in motion. We're going to take a moment to find out what they represent and why they're important.
2-2 Hemispheres And Quadrants9:52
This is a cheat method for sizing up a person by looking at where their planets cluster on a chart. Is he a people person or out for themselves? Wall flower or party animal? A great way to size up a client or potential love interest.

We've been using the Equal House system up til now without issues but by now you should have figured out that there are other systems out there. Let's check under the hood to see why house systems and houses sizes differ, and see if there may be a better house system out there that's tailored for your kind of astrology.

This anomaly appears in non-equal house charts and offers an opportunity to do deep work with clients. Interceptions represent choke points and self-defeating core beliefs on the chart and offer powerful growth opportunities.
4-2 Decanates25:21
Are you a Taurus who feels more like a Virgo? Too mean to be a Pisces? Decanates may just hold the answer you've been looking for and can shed light on the three different flavours of each sign.

Signs - an understanding of modalities and elements and a grasp of the Big 3
A solid understanding of houses and house rulership
A solid understanding of planets, including dignity and the difference between the personal and tranformational planets
A working understanding the major aspects of astrology
An understanding of major planetary patterns
How to weight up elemental and modality dominance on a natal chart
how to search for specifics on the chart such as love or career
The ability to bring all of these elements together to interpret a natal astrology chart

If you've completed my course "Modern Astrology - An Introduction To Natal Astrology" and you're eager to take on bigger things then Advanced Astrology was designed for you.

Let's build on those foundations by strengthening your understanding of the chart with new interpretation devices and exciting new interpretation points. Get insight into different house systems like Placidus and Koch. Learn about asteroids and how to interpret them on the chart. Discover some of the points on the chart that provide opportunities for healing work.

Discover calculated points like the Part Of Fortune, White Moon Selena and Black Moon Lilith. This course introduces some of the concepts used in soul-centered astrology and allows you to take more of a personality-driven/humanistic approach to interpretive work.

Develop the knowledge and build the skills to explore your own chart on a deeper level and to be of greater service to clients.

You'll need the following knowledge to comfortably complete this course:

An understanding of the mechanics of the natal chart
An understanding of signs - including elements and modality
An understanding of houses - what each house rules and how the energy of houses is affected by a ruling sign
An understanding of planets, including an understanding of rulership and planetary dignity
All major aspects - the Conjunction, Trine, Sextile, Opposition and Square
The big three - what they are and why they matter
Interpretive ability and experience - bringing all of these elements together to read a natal chart with the ability to look for specific content such as career, love, etc.
