We start by introducing you to the course as a whole and impress on you the fundamental principle of memorising anything. In order to remember something you must make that thing vivid, imaginative and memorable.
I teach you what I refer to as the tableau method of linking whereby you pair items together into memorable compound images. I then present you with my pre paired images so that you can learn your first list with as little effort as possible.
I present you with two more lists but I get you to come up with your own visualisations in order to memorise them.
The last task for the day involves getting you to place the start points of the lists around your house so that you can recall them again whenever you want.
We start today by introducing you to what I call the narrative method of linking and I take you through a list with my own narrative.
I get you to memorise the following two lists by coming up with your own narrative stories to remember the items in the lists.
I finish today by getting you to place the first items of the lists from today in another room in your house.
I teach you the first list of the day by giving you my own narrative.
I give your three more lists where you have to use either or both of the linking systems to memorise the lists on your own.
We close off today as we did in the previous days by placing the first item of each of those lists around your house.
You start today by reciting the 100 items we have spent the last few days learning.
I get you to stitch the separate lists together so that you can recall them later faster.
In the last task of the day I get you to run through all 100 items of the lists backwards.
I give you your first set of notae so that you can start grappling with and memorising single digit numbers.
I introduce you to a simple letter number code that will aid us in tomorrow’s lesson.
Using the code from yesterday’s lesson, I will give you a much broader set of Notae that will code for the first 50 double digit numbers.
Using the same number digit code we will now memorise the second set of 50 double digit numbers.
I get you to rehearse the notae for 00-99 in order to solidify it in your mind.
I get you to start the day by mentally running around a couple of rooms in your house and designating spaces to store the number sequences for the next couple of lessons.
I give you the first 30 decimals of pi in 3 lists. I provide the narratives for you.
I give you the following 20 decimals of pi along with their notae but you now you have to come up with the narratives/tableaus.
I start today by teaching you the next set of 20 decimals, where I compose the narrative for you.
Finally I present you with the next 30 decimals which you have to memorise by composing your own narrative/tableaus.
What does an enhanced memory give you?
This is the start of a colourful journey into being smarter and wiser. Properly applied, learning can truly be much easier and more fun in just about any field.
After you have completed this memory course, if you want to learn new things you will still need to work but you will have all the tools you need. With time it will become easier and more of a habit.
What Will You Receive?
A powerful memory, pure and simple. This memory course is about learning the techniques of mnemonics in order to remember stuff. I mean lots of stuff.
It is a tool box for learning whatever it is you want to learn. Taking you through basics like learning lists, numbers, facts and figures, to building memory palaces and remembering people.
Want to memorize pi to 1000 decimal places, no problem.
Want to remember historical events and their dates, no problem.
Want to flawlessly give a presentation to your boss with all the relevant facts and figures without notes, no problem.
Want to go to a party and remember the name of everyone you meet, no problem.
What Will You Learn?
At least one list 100 items long
At least 100 decimal places of pi
The dates of roughly 40 historical events
The structure required to remember the names of everyone you meet
What Isn't It?
It is not a magic elixir for creating genius. It does not make you limitless.
It is not a quick fix. Remembering stuff is taxing. It takes effort, but it requires a lot less if you know how to start. Human beings are extraordinary but you will need to put in the work to live up to that. The impressive feats of memory above are not so much extraordinary as just well trained.
