Description
'A good doctor treats the disease, but a great doctor treats the patient' this statement is by Dr. William Osler, who is considered the father of modern medicine. The same thing holds good for nutrition practice as well. In this introductory course on holistic nutrition, we will be exploring certain basic principles to achieve a better connection with our client for an intended and effective outcome. The 5 lessons are taken from the regular course and are structured in a way so that you get the basic idea of what holistic nutrition practice is. To get a better understanding it is advisable to go through the lessons repeatedly. The first lesson discusses the art of history taking and the second is a case discussion. Here it is explained in detail how holistic assessment is different from clinical evaluation where it is usually restricted to anthropometry, dietary recall, and certain food behaviors. The third lesson discusses the psycho-emotional causes of the illness. Though the lesson is lengthy it gives you a fair understanding of the nutrition care process. Different tools are being used by holistic practitioners all over the world. Here we discussed one such tool, acceptance. The last lesson talks about the advantages of being a holistic practitioner and how it improves the income of the practitioner.
