This course is Part A of a two-part presentation of The Depths of Mindfulness retreat.
The Depths of Mindfulness - a journey into the essence of mindfulness that promises not only insight but the possibility of lasting inner liberation.
Led by Shai Tubali, Ph.D., this journey is dedicated to rediscovering the essence of the Buddha’s teachings and uncovering mindfulness as the Buddha originally taught it: a complete path of transformation and liberation. In contrast to the way mindfulness has often been reduced in the West, this course goes beyond stress relief and explores mindfulness in its most profound, transformative depth.
This course is Part A of a two-part journey. Together, Part A and Part B present the retreat in its full depth. Part A focuses on the foundational teachings and practices, establishing the essential understanding and experiential basis for the path as a whole.
Through teachings and guided meditations rooted in the Anapanasati Sutta, you are guided through the Buddha’s sixteen stages of mindfulness of breathing, gaining a step-by-step understanding of the path that led the Buddha to enlightenment. The practice reveals its ultimate goal: the realization of impermanence and liberation from clinging.
At the heart of this journey is Loosening the Knots of the Heart, Shai Tubali’s unique mindfulness of breathing process. Integrating breathing, contemplation, and visualization, this method enables you to gently release emotional and mental attachments, leading to a profound sense of freedom. Each stage invites a deeper letting go—from emotions to universal existence—transforming meditation into a tool for ultimate liberation.
The course follows a holistic and integrative approach, combining:
Teachings on the Buddha’s original mindfulness practices
Guided meditations with clear, step-by-step guidance
Mind–body–breath alignment as a foundation for inner calm and clarity
Loving-kindness practice to open the heart and cultivate balance
Silence as a gateway to insight, allowing the mind to settle and the heart to open
Throughout the journey, mindfulness is experienced not as a concept, but as a lived reality. Impermanence is embraced directly, and relinquishment is practiced as the heart of liberation.
This course is for anyone ready to reconnect with the authentic teachings of mindfulness, deepen their meditation practice, and discover a practice they can integrate into daily life for lasting change, clarity, inner peace, and freedom from attachment.
