Welcome to Mindful Drawing. You have begun a journey of self care like no other. Give yourself a pat on the back, because you have given yourself a gift.
This is a space to take time and check in with oneself. Before we start any drawing, we begin with a self check in.
Free Line drawing begins with creating lines. These lines will be a great resource for many art projects or doodles. Many artists have a free drawing sheet to refer to. You can have as many as you want. In the next section we will create a grid and begin our free drawing line sheet.
When you finish your sheet, I encourage you to begin a new one. Perhaps even color in some of your free drawings. Your imagination is the limit with free drawing. I've included a worksheet for this section, however you can use a ruler or free hand to create your own.
In the resource section, I included a weekly sketch sheet. This is optional. However to keep the creative juices flowing, I invite you to find at least one texture or pattern to recreate on your weekly sheet. You can cut out the line patterns you like and add them to your main free drawing sheet or book.
Lines don't always have to be made with a pencil or marker, this video is to get your creative flow a little boost of confidence. Whatever it is you create your lines with, you are creating new ways of drawing and making art. I wonder what you will create lines with? Is there a coffee stain pattern you might have thought about? Maybe the mud in your backyard would work, who knows you might end up drawing lines in the sand at the beach one day or lining up your fries on your plate. Whatever works for you, go with it. See what happens and you never know what you will like.
We go over a few more line patterns and I show you an example of one of my sketch sheets for more creative ideas to flow for you.
In this first video we go over creating a neuro line and softening the lines.
Color and shapes create even more depth to your neuro art.
Creating a background first can be fun and mindful in its own way. Drawing and Doodling doesn't have to be only markers, pencil crayons and pencils. It can be messy and fun, with paint and other tools around the house.
Reversing the process of the Neuro Art is fun and adding your own touch of lines is a personal touch. You can create you work for weeks days or hours. It's all in the fun of creating and letting your creativity, flow.
In this video we go over some fun contour drawings. I added some cross contour line drawing tutorials in the resource section.
You will learn new patterns that you can add to your mindful drawings. Each skill layers and your creativity bank overflows with ideas.
Zen Doodles are about repeating lines and bringing lines into new patterns. This section we Doodle flower, leaves and even a mandala Zen style
