Learn to build complex automated workflows in Power Automate by using expressions, variables, conditions, trigger conditions, if functions, switch actions, and parallel branches.
Discover how to use expressions in Power Automate to build flows, using string, math, and date functions, including concat, substring, add days, and Uri parsing.
Build an automated cloud flow that uses expressions to populate a donor information list from a form, concatenating names and calculating dates with add days and start of month.
Learn to use variables in Power Automate flows by initializing and updating counters, handling integers and floats, and applying them to a SharePoint list and email notifications.
Create an automated cloud flow on SharePoint that runs when an item is created or modified, if air travel is required or the total is at least 1500.
Set trigger conditions inside the trigger to prevent loops and control when a flow runs, using wsdl syntax with contains and coalesce and a 1500 threshold.
Learn to use nested if functions and the switch control in Power Automate to classify donation amounts into bronze, silver, gold, and platinum, with testing guidance.
Activate parallel branches to run updates to the donor list, sponsor list, and charity list simultaneously after a form submission, using dynamic content and response details to create items efficiently.
Learn to build complex automated workflows with Power Automate.
In this course, trainer Vicki Drewa will show you how to use many of the advanced features of Microsoft Power Automate. You’ll build on your existing knowledge of Excel functions to incorporate both simple and complex expressions into your flows and test those expressions before placing them into a flow.
You’ll learn how you can use variables to store values that need to be updated at different points in a flow. You’ll also learn several ways to apply conditions in Power Automate, including how to use the Condition control feature and how to apply conditions directly to a trigger.
What do you do when you have several possible conditions that could be met? Vicki will show you how to use IF functions in Power Automate and how to nest them and combine them with AND functions to form conditional statements. Additionally, she’ll demonstrate how you can create parallel branches to perform multiple actions simultaneously, which can increase efficiency and save time.
This Microsoft Power Automate Advanced course is designed to show you how to utilize some of the advanced features of the app so that you can automate more of your work and boost your productivity!
Topics covered include:
Creating expressions
Incorporating expressions into workflows
Initializing and calling variables
