Hello and welcome to this Copilot Masterclass course on Udemy!

Before we dive in, let me introduce myself. My name is Faysal Durrani. I have extensive experience working within prominent corporate retail groups. Throughout my career, I have dealt with the exact, real-world data challenges that professionals face daily, and more importantly, I know how to solve them efficiently.

This is my second course here on Udemy. In my first course, I teach Microsoft Excel from scratch, and now, I am incredibly excited to show you how to leverage Copilot AI to take your productivity to the next level.

"If you are new to Udemy and find that I am speaking too fast, you can easily slow down the video speed. Simply click on the Playback Speed option at the bottom of the video player. By default, it is set to 1x, but you can change it to 0.5x or 0.75x to slow it down. On the other hand, if you feel my speed is too slow, you can increase it to 1.25x, 1.5x, or up to 2x.

Additionally, you can adjust the video playback quality by clicking the Gear icon (Settings). This tutorial was recorded in high definition (HD), and the video quality will automatically adjust based on the speed of your internet connection."

I hope you thoroughly enjoy this learning journey. Best of luck, and I will see you inside our very first lesson!"

  • Complete Beginner to Advanced Masterclass1:58

“Welcome to the Microsoft Copilot AI: Complete Beginner to Advanced Masterclass. I’m excited to guide you through this practical, hands-on journey into the world of AI-powered productivity.”

“This course is designed to help you understand what Microsoft Copilot is, how it works across Microsoft 365 apps, how to write effective prompts, and how to use AI to automate your daily tasks. You’ll also explore real-world business use cases that you can apply immediately.”

“This course is perfect for students, office workers, managers, analysts, content creators, freelancers, and anyone who wants to use AI to work smarter — even if you’re a complete beginner.”

“You will learn how to use Copilot inside Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. You’ll analyze data with AI, create presentations automatically, write emails and reports faster, generate content, and build your own custom workflows.”

“The course is divided into ten structured sections. We begin with the basics of AI, then move into Copilot fundamentals, prompting techniques, and hands-on demonstrations inside Microsoft 365 apps. Finally, you’ll complete a real-world capstone project that brings everything together.”

“Microsoft Copilot is becoming a core part of modern work. It helps you save time, automate repetitive tasks, improve your writing, analyze data, create content, and make better decisions — all with simple prompts.”

“To follow along, you only need a computer, an internet connection, and access to Copilot. Microsoft 365 is optional but recommended for the hands-on demonstrations.”

“Let’s begin your Copilot journey. In the next lesson, we’ll explore the basics of Artificial Intelligence and how it powers Microsoft Copilot.”

  • Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence3:31

“In this lesson, we’re going to break down the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence in a simple and practical way. You’ll learn what AI actually is, how it works behind the scenes, and why it has become such an essential part of modern productivity. By the end of this lecture, you’ll have a clear understanding of the core concepts that power tools like Microsoft Copilot.”

“Artificial Intelligence is a broad term that describes computer systems designed to perform tasks that typically require human intelligence. This includes understanding natural language, recognizing patterns in data, making predictions, and even solving problems. AI doesn’t think like a human, but it can mimic certain cognitive abilities by analyzing huge amounts of information and identifying patterns much faster than we can.”

“Artificial Intelligence is the overall field that focuses on creating intelligent systems. Within AI, we have Machine Learning, which is a technique that allows computers to learn from data instead of being explicitly programmed. And then we have Large Language Models, or LLMs, which are a specialized type of Machine Learning model trained on massive amounts of text. These models can understand context, interpret meaning, and generate human‑like language — which is exactly what powers tools like Copilot.”

“Large Language Models are trained on billions of words from books, articles, websites, and other text sources. Because of this enormous training data, they learn how language works — not just vocabulary, but tone, structure, and context. This allows them to generate responses that feel natural and human‑like. When you ask Copilot a question or give it a task, an LLM processes your request, understands the intent, and produces a meaningful response.”

“AI has become a major driver of productivity because it takes over the tasks that slow us down. It helps you work faster by automating repetitive actions, improving your writing, analyzing data instantly, and giving you insights that would normally take hours to uncover. Instead of spending time on manual work, AI allows you to focus on higher‑value tasks — the things that require creativity, strategy, and decision‑making.”

“AI is already part of everyday work, even if you don’t realize it. It can summarize long email threads in seconds, create full reports from raw data, analyze Excel spreadsheets and highlight trends, generate complete presentations, and even draft professional messages or documents. These are tasks that used to take hours — now they can be done in moments with the help of AI.”

“Here’s a simple exercise to understand how flexible AI can be. Ask Copilot to explain Artificial Intelligence in one sentence. Then ask it again, but this time say: ‘Explain it like I’m ten years old.’ You’ll notice how the explanation changes based on your instructions. This demonstrates how AI adapts to your tone, your level of detail, and your communication style.”

“In the next lesson, we’ll shift our focus to Microsoft Copilot itself. You’ll learn what Copilot is, how it works, and how it uses AI to help you work smarter across Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. This will give you a strong foundation before we start using Copilot hands‑on.”

  • What is Copilot2:43

“In this lesson, we’ll introduce Microsoft Copilot — the AI assistant built directly into Microsoft’s ecosystem. You’ll learn what Copilot is, how it works across different apps, and how it fits into the broader AI landscape. This will give you a clear foundation before we explore Copilot in action in later sections.”

“Microsoft Copilot is an AI assistant designed to help you work smarter across the Microsoft 365 suite. It can write content, summarize information, analyze data, create presentations, and assist with communication. Whether you’re in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, or Teams, Copilot is integrated directly into your workflow.”

“Copilot isn’t just a single tool — it’s an entire ecosystem. You can use it inside Microsoft 365 apps, inside Windows, in the Edge browser, on your mobile device, and even in the web version of Copilot. This means your AI assistant is available wherever you work.”

“There are three main versions of Copilot. The free version gives you basic AI chat. Copilot Pro adds faster performance and priority access to advanced models. Microsoft 365 Copilot is the full enterprise version that integrates deeply with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams, allowing you to use AI directly inside your documents and workflows.”

“Copilot Free is available to everyone and works in your browser or mobile app. It’s great for basic tasks like asking questions, generating ideas, or drafting simple content. However, it does not integrate with your Microsoft 365 apps or your personal files.”

“Copilot Pro is a paid upgrade designed for individuals who want faster performance and access to the latest AI models. It offers enhanced capabilities, but the integration with Microsoft 365 apps is still limited compared to the full enterprise version.”

“Microsoft 365 Copilot is the most powerful version. It integrates directly into your Microsoft 365 apps and uses your organization’s data securely. This allows you to generate documents, analyze spreadsheets, summarize meetings, and automate workflows — all inside the apps you already use.”

“To summarize, Copilot comes in three versions: Free, Pro, and Microsoft 365 Copilot. Each version offers different levels of capability and integration. In the next lesson, we’ll explore how Copilot actually works behind the scenes and how it uses AI to support your daily tasks.”
