We all know that the full form of the web is the World Wide Web. It was invented by Sir Tim Berners-Lee in 1989. After 28 years, the third generation, Web 3.O, is set to create new horizons. The original web is known as Web 1.O, and the web we use today is called Web 2.O. The third generation, Web 3.O, is coming soon and will take our lives one step further.
The first version of the web is called Web 1.O. Web 1.O used Gateway Interface, System of Server Files, and HTML. It was a system where the Internet was just for reading or one-way communication. There was no provision for comments or feedback. Web 2.O solved the problems of Web 1.O. Now, it’s not just for reading; you can comment, share, tag, create user accounts on various sites, upload files, enjoy high-speed internet, and strengthen interaction between users.
And now, Web 3.O is the new creation that's shaking up the tech world. Simply put, Web 3.O is an evolution of Web 2.O, built entirely on blockchain technology. Users will get many benefits from Web 3.O. Here, data won't be stored on a central server. As a result, users can control their own information, and no information will be shared without their permission. The government or any authority won’t be able to stop any site or service at will, and no one can control someone else's information, even if they know how to hack.
Currently, companies like Amazon and Facebook collect all user information on their huge servers and can trade this information for billions of dollars if they want. With Web 3.O, organizations will lose that power because all the information will be encrypted.
Today, all the mobile or web apps we use depend on the operating system. For example, Android-based cryptocurrencies are unplayable on iOS. Web 3.O will reduce these dependencies on operating systems. Web 3.O will feature the semantic web, artificial intelligence, 3D graphics, natural language search, microformats, and much more. The W3C is working to develop Web 3.O.
Web 3.O, the decentralized web, will require only one seed to access. With this single identity, we can use various apps and web services. Web 3.O will have a search engine that won't just look for keywords but will also be able to interpret search terms. In short, Web 3.O will allow for direct communication with easy-to-use interfaces for simple information retrieval. General users won’t face much difficulty transitioning from Web 2.O to Web 3.O. Hopefully, in this lesson, we’ve learned a few things about the web. There’s plenty more informative content throughout the entire course. Thank You.
According to scientists, the metaverse is the new marvel of the Internet world. The term and concept of the metaverse aren't actually new; the idea and examples of it have been around for several decades.
In this lesson, we’re going to learn about the Metaverse. The Metaverse is a pretty big concept and one of the hottest topics in today’s tech world. The word "meta" originally comes from Greek, which means "after." Metaverse is a combination of "meta" and "universe," so it means "the world beyond Earth."
In this lesson, we’re going to talk about Extended Reality. Extended Reality, or XR, is a term that combines the physical and virtual worlds, like Virtual Reality (VR), Mixed Reality (MR), and Augmented Reality (AR). The term "extended reality" or "XR" was first used in March 2017 when the Khronos Group Consortium developed OpenXR.
In this lesson, we’re going to learn about Augmented Reality. Augmented Reality, or AR, is a scientific technology that keeps our practical life constantly moving and changing. Virtual reality has been on the rise for the past few years, but according to most technologists, Augmented Reality is going to be the big surprise in the future tech world.
In this lesson, we’re going to talk about virtual reality, or VR for short. VR is a computer system that creates an artificial environment. The word "virtual" means "in front," and "reality" means "actuality." But this reality can only be experienced by humans. It's not real in the true sense but more like a fantasy or imagined reality that feels very real.
Virtual Reality is abbreviated as “VR,” and Augmented Reality is abbreviated as “AR.” Both VR and AR have their advantages. With VR, you can watch and play 3D videos, watch 360-degree videos from YouTube, and play games in 360 degrees. Augmented Reality, or AR, is like an extended version of the real world. It adds a computer-generated layer on top of what you see in real life.
Mixed reality is the next wave of computing, following mainframes, PCs, and smartphones. It frees us from screen-bound experiences by providing intuitive interactions with data from our homes and friends. Online explorers around the world have experienced mixed reality through their handheld devices. These days, mobile AR offers a lot, with mixed reality on social media. People might not even realize that the filters they’re using on Instagram or Snapchat are mixed reality experiences.
In the metaverse, users can do a lot of things! You can shop, play games, meet friends, attend concerts, work, and create an entire virtual life and lifestyle. This new technology has the potential to revolutionize the education and training sector.
A planned metaverse will open the door to multiple possibilities. There are so many benefits we can enjoy through the metaverse. The world will experience exciting new technologies that will make our lives easier.
Blockchain has actually created a whole new kind of internet. Originally, it was invented just for the digital currency Bitcoin, but now its potential is being tapped into various areas of technology.
You’ve probably heard about blockchain in the context of Ethereum or Bitcoin. What’s fascinating is that with blockchain, no one really knows who owns a site, and these sites can’t be shut down by governments or any other authority. This makes hacking virtually impossible.
Blockchain is a peer-to-peer ledger system that lets peers transact directly with each other. To put it simply, a blockchain is a chain made up of blocks. These blocks store information, and by linking them together, we create a blockchain. It's essentially a distributed ledger that's open to everyone.
The list of all records in a blockchain is called a "block." So, a blockchain is always connected to a continuously growing list of records, and these records are always secure. It's almost impossible to hack blockchain technology with other technologies. Plus, transactions can be completed in less time, making blockchain more popular every day.
NFTs are really popular right now! In this lesson of the course, we're going to explore NFTs in detail. NFT stands for non-fungible token. It is a cryptographic token that is represented as a unique token or digital asset.
Tokens aim to create the perfect investment platform for respective investors, especially for those accessing newly launched projects in the metaverse. Cryptographic tokens represent programmable assets or access rights managed by smart contracts and underlying distributed ledgers.
Blockchain technology is the backbone of cryptocurrency, and Web 3.O is set to be the new internet for the future. This evolving internet landscape is creating new opportunities for crypto owners, offering a decentralized platform that will greatly benefit blockchain and cryptocurrency. While today’s most talked-about blockchains and cryptocurrencies can be tricky to navigate, Web 3.O aims to simplify that experience.
Blockchain technology is playing a vital role in NFTs, which are essential for the metaverse. So, what are NFTs? Well, NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, are unique digital tokens that are creating new markets and expanding the use of assets that haven’t been widely adopted yet. You can find NFTs in various areas, like gaming, shopping, crafts, and design.
The term isn’t new, but it’s definitely taking on a fresh meaning these days. Basically, decentralization means shifting power and management from big institutions or governments to regular users. This is where blockchain technology comes in, especially as we look toward Web3 and the Metaverse.
Metaverse is quite trending now, but many people still aren’t sure how to dive into this virtual world. Meta is working on creating this digital world through the Metaverse without changing our social media apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook.
Unity is a cross-platform game engine developed by Unity Technologies., and it's especially popular for creating iOS and Android mobile games. Unity3D, also by Unity Technologies, is a cross-platform game engine primarily used to develop both 3D and 2D video games, as well as simulations for computers and mobile devices.
Unreal Engine, or UE, is a powerful 3D computer graphics game engine developed by Epic Games. Which was first shown in 1998. The game was originally developed for PC first-person shooters. It’s been used in all kinds of games.
Cybernetics is a broad field that deals with regulatory and objective systems. It’s an interdisciplinary science that focuses on the communication and control systems of organisms, machines, and other organizations. Essentially, cybernetics studies how information can be transformed into desired actions.
Cybernetics, or systems management science, is all about understanding the flow of information and how it influences systems. This field compares all types of complex systems, whether they’re natural, like biological organisms, or man-made, like mechanical systems, electronic systems, or even social systems.
Amazon Sumerian is designed to be user-friendly. With it, you can build interactive 3D scenes without any programming experience. It comes with the Sumerian 3D Engine, which provides a library for advanced scripting with JavaScript. But don’t worry—you don’t have to be a programmer to create interactive AR, VR, or 3D content. You can use the built-in state machine to animate objects, respond to user input like movements, and even click objects.
SparkAR Studio is an augmented reality platform for Mac and Windows. TSparkAR is a software developed by Facebook that allows you to create augmented reality experiences on Instagram and Facebook. It originally launched only for Mac OS, but now it’s also available for Windows. And the best part? It’s free! You can download it from the SparkAR website and start using it right away.
The impact of the metaverse on the gaming world is incredibly exciting. Game developers are always working hard to meet the needs of gamers, aiming to give them the best gaming experience possible. With the metaverse, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) are becoming essential tools to make games more immersive and realistic than ever before.
The metaverse is like a digital universe where you can do almost anything live using technologies like virtual reality, augmented reality, and video. Imagine logging into your virtual avatar and entering a Metaverse meeting room, where you meet your team members. It feels just like being in a physical meeting space at the office.
Most internet users see the metaverse as a virtual space where they can chat, interact, and exchange ideas with others. Since the invention of the internet, the e-commerce sector has evolved to offer the fastest and most convenient online shopping experiences. Think about it: next-day or even same-day delivery of products with just one click. But what if you could try a product live as soon as you clicked on it? The metaverse will make this possible.
Most internet users see the metaverse as a virtual space where they can chat, interact, and exchange ideas with others. Since the invention of the internet, the e-commerce sector has evolved to offer the fastest and most convenient online shopping experiences.
Those who stay in the metaverse can go on virtual tours around the world with their friends. The metaverse could revolutionize the way we engage with the travel industry. You can explore any hotel or place through virtual reality (VR) from the comfort of your home on the other side of the world.
If you're a regular user of social media and online sites, you've probably seen or heard the term "metaverse" at least once in the past few months. It's a term associated with a new vision of the internet. Recently, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook will now be called Meta. Recently, the name of the company owned by Facebook, Instagram, Oculus, and WhatsApp has become quite noisy, but Meta has a long history.
With the blessings of science in mind, the metaverse is being introduced to accelerate the results of modern technology and the education system. Virtual reality in this new metaverse can be an exciting and important chapter for students today.
The first step in creating a metaverse virtual world is, obviously, to create your own digital identity. Metaverse users can reinvent themselves with avatars and a digital identity built on digital assets.
We can't talk about the metaverse without diving into real estate. Just like in the real world, people are buying and selling property on digital platforms, but they're doing it with cryptocurrency. Now, real estate in the metaverse is still considered “highly speculative.” But many technologists believe that the metaverse will eventually grow into a fully functional economy of its own. In fact, virtual real estate has become so popular that digital assets are selling for millions of dollars. For example, a patch of virtual land in Decentraland sold for $2.4 million worth of crypto!
Technology is no longer a luxury; it's a reality. We don’t send letters anymore to share news; we use Messenger and WhatsApp. With the development of AI, AR, VR, and IoT, soon we might not need physical offices or travel. We’ll have virtual offices and virtual vacations. These things are going to happen very soon in the world of the metaverse.
The metaverse will be an advanced platform where you can create a virtual environment. You can do so many things in the metaverse: gather with friends and family, play games, do business, shop, read, write, and more. In the metaverse, you’ll feel like you’re sitting right next to people, chatting with them, even if you're miles apart.
In this course, we've discussed the concept of data in the metaverse and how it works so that we can understand this new world of the future. It's important to keep up with the changing times.
The digital world and augmented reality are often talked about a lot, and then the excitement fades. But this time, there's a big buzz among tech investors and companies about the metaverse. Since this technology is becoming the future of the internet, no one wants to be left behind. The more accessible everything becomes, the more cautious we need to be. The metaverse isn’t a single entity. It can’t be created by one organization and won’t be built overnight. It will take at least 8 to 10 years to reach perfection.
You’ve already learned a lot about the metaverse by completing this course. Thanks so much for being with me throughout this journey. I hope your knowledge continues to grow. Thank You.
