In this course, you’ll get to learn about certain psychological skills to help your mental performance. You’ll be taught a few different tools and techniques that have been shown to enhance mental performance in sport/performance psychology. You’ll learn how to:
♦ Set goals that work for you
♦ Build and maintain confidence
♦ Improve focus
♦ Increase motivation
There are four sections within this course and two lectures for each section. Some of the areas you’ll learn about include creating SMART goals, applying a “mental filter”, and managing stress and fatigue. You’ll leave this training with a mental skills “toolbox” that can have a positive impact on various areas, including work, school, sports, exercise, and the overall challenges of life.
This course is not meant to be rigorous. It’s a short mini-course providing you with practical knowledge and tips to begin working on enhancing your mental performance. You can also use the information in this course to help others improve their mental performance.
All you’ll need for this training is a pencil and paper to take notes. You’ll be provided a worksheet at the end of each section to put what you’ve learned into practice. I hope the mental skills you’ll gain from this course help you more consistently perform your best and learn new ways to cope with the everyday struggles of life.
