Description

This course explains why it is important for men to know about menopause.  It concisely explains the process and helps understand the resulting symptoms that you might notice. It suggests strategies for supporting women you work and live with, as well as the most important part of menopause - what happens afterwards.

There is a lot of misinformation that has resulted in the idea that suffering at this time is inevitable, and as a result women dread it (feeling out of control) and men are sidelined feeling the knock on effects that work or home relationships have changed and they are unsure why and what to do about it.  By talking through how and why this process works physically in women, you can get a better understanding of not only physical, but mental and emotional symptoms and changes at this time. The course explains to what extent symptoms are to be expected but more importantly what doesn't need to be suffered at all.

Many men feel it is pot luck how badly a women may be at the time, and worry how their partner or colleague may be as they feel nothing can be done.  However the videos explain at what point your partner or colleague would benefit from seeking help to rebalance their hormones to help them through this important and fascinating life change. Neither you nor your partner, family member or colleague needs to suffer, both men and women emerge positively from this transition.

Each video takes one aspect of menopause and discusses how that is generally experienced from a women's perspective. Importantly it clearly distinguishes what is a normal level of symptoms that women can expect at menopause which generally do not interfere with enjoying life and being part of the work force, and when symptoms become overwhelming and need to be corrected.  It briefly looks at how women can have a lot of power and control over re-balancing their hormones - although this is discussed in much greater detail in our longer menopause course aimed at women taking back their power at this time.

It particularly considers how men can be part of this process, be that someone you live with or someone you work with.  This is a wonderful and positive change for women, so often misinterpreted as the "end" - however it is a time of creativity and growth and we hope by spreading this message men can feel the benefit of this too.
