Description
Hi, I'm Jovanna! I've been making candles since I was 15 years old. I really enjoy it; for me, it's a relaxing, meditative activity - an enjoyable hobby, rather than a job or profession.
This course will show you how to make a few types of basic candles, including molded candles, votive candles, scented candles, and even multicolored candles, in extremely simple and easy ways.
This is not a course for candle-making professionals to learn how to make complicated & time consuming candles to sell to Bed Bath & Beyond. This is more of a course for someone who wants to learn to quickly and easily (and enjoyably) make simple, fun candles, to burn at home, or to give as gifts to friends & relatives, or even to sell on Etsy.
In this course, I'll walk you through the basics of candle-making, including temperatures, flashpoints, essential oils, pigments, and more.
I even included some videos where I made mistakes in measurements and procedures, in order to show you what can happen when you do things the wrong way, so that you learn from my mistakes and learn what NOT to do.
I hope you enjoy this course, and would love to get your honest feedback! I sincerely appreciate your honest thoughts, messages and reviews.

Instructor
Hi! I'm Jovanna :)
I am a trained yoga & meditation teacher, amateur candle maker, plant enthusiast, and Vedic astrologer. I have always enjoyed my solitude and one of my passions since I was a teenager has been to make candles for myself and loved ones.
I'm not particularly creative in any traditional way; I don't paint, I don't dance, I don't compose music or play instruments... but since I was a little girl, I dreamt of my very own apothecary, with labeled glass jars filled with all kinds of different herbs, flowers, and plants. I dreamt of making all sorts of things with them: tonics, teas, and candles.
When I was 14 or 15, I went to Michael's and bought a candle making kit; I instantly fell in love with creating them. Before I ever sat down in meditation, this was one of the ways I centered myself. While creating these vehicles for light and pleasant aromas, I felt for the first time like I had found a way to truly create something that I thought was beautiful. It rejuvenated my soul with a sense of humble pride, and I loved gifting them to those who I knew would appreciate them.
In this course, I hope I can introduce you to the same feeling I felt all those years ago. The opportunity to spend quality time with your Self, while creating something so simple, yet so magical.
In this course, we will go over the fundamentals of candle making and hone our knowledge of this ancient craft. I hope you enjoy!
With love & gratitude,
Jovanna
