Medical Astrology - Astrology And The Psychology Of Disease

Referenced in ancient India and ancient Greece, the Seven Rays are still used today in esoteric work and energy healing among other things. They are also a critical component in medical astrology. This section will give you an overview of the Seven Rays, introduces each particular Ray and will give a medical perspective on how each Ray expresses.

The Ray of the destroyer and the spirit aspect in the spiritual trinity - Ray One releases spirit from form.

The Ray of love-wisdom, Ray 2 is connected to the spiritual law of Attraction and rules the Mind aspect of the spiritual trinity.

The Ray of the lightning mind and the manifestation of form, Ray Three is the Body aspect of the spiritual trinity.

Harmony through conflict. Ray Four has played a critical role in the development of the consciousness of humanity. it rules our internal volatility and is strongly connected to the emotional body.

The concrete mind and the Ray of the scientist - Ray Five expresses through logic and rational thought. Rigidity and inflexibility are part of the course for Ray Five types.

The urge to belong and the mistrust of those who don't, Ray Six is the most common ray for the majority of humanity and has held a powerful grasp on our development as a species.

The Ray of ritual and the magician, Ray Seven is a harmonizing ray and drives the search for perfection. Yet it is also strongly connected to our base nature and bestial selves.

For a concept that has been with humanity since the dawn of time, it's no surprise that the Seven Rays have been interpreted differently through time and through their application in differing modalities. I felt it important to offer a broader perspective on the Rays and asked for assistance from Udemy instructor Nickolas Mparalos - Reiki master and instructor. Western science - with it's attention to the observable universe, has been slow to discover energy compared to the more theoretical schools of thought from the East. The chakras and the etheric web have been a vital part of Indian spirituality and physiology since the dawn of consciousness and are remarkably similar to the Chinese science of chi or qi meridians.

They're also a vital component in medical astrology. We'll go through the seven major chakras in this section and discuss how they apply to medical astrology.

Astrology has had a long standing understanding of how the nature of the signs impact health and well-being. This section goes further and looks at each sign by element and how they signs exercise rulership in the body and connect to the rays and chakras, beginning with the fire signs.

The emotions and the astral body. Water signs link us to the instinctive world and the intuition, creating powerful emotional and psychological challenges for the afflicted.

In this section we discuss planetary rulership of the body, the illnesses or diseases carried by each planet and the connection of the planets to the rays and the chakras.
