Explore Maximo architecture, infrastructure and implementation through five sections, 27 lectures, and practical sizing, deployment planning, and security and performance considerations for a scalable deployment.
Explore the Maximo system architecture and its components, including network, hardware, operating system, data, and application servers, and learn to plan deployment and infrastructure sizing for Maximo asset management.
Plan deployment by preparing your environment and choosing between single server and multi-server topologies for Maximo asset management, with IBM middleware or non-IBM middleware.
Choose a security option to manage authentication and authorization, assign users and security groups, and plan installation across products, using native Máximo authentication, directory-based authentication, or a combined approach.
Finalize the Maximo architecture by combining vertical and horizontal clustering, Maximo Anywhere apps, and secure, scalable deployment with SSL, DMZ, and robust load balancing.
Review the production architecture and deployment designs for Maximo, detailing environment-specific servers and infrastructure layouts. Prepare hardware provisioning and configure the database and middleware before installation.
Prepare environment for maximo asset management by provisioning resources. Log in with admin privileges, download installation images from passport advantage, configure WebSphere application server, verify DNS/IP reachability, and open ports.
Prepare the installation worksheet for Maximo asset management, listing venues for settings, deployment components, and default Linux values, and capture Oracle and WebSphere configurations before installation.
This course is intended for aspiring architects, technical and functional consultants, analysts, solution experts of Maximo application. This course is designed with an expectation that a student understands the basic server architecture of Maximo and knows how Maximo application runs inside a server machine. The course starts with an introduction of Maximo System Architecture and its middleware components. Then the focus is on to make a student understand what should be planned for a deployment project. The course moves on with a practical example of a project deployment starting with brainstorming of requirements to come up with a Maximo Application Architecture Design with iterations and to calculate infrastructure sizes to prepare an infrastructure layout for the same with IBM recommended guidelines and best practices. This course later discusses on various aspects and guidelines for product installation and deployment in a clustered environment. This section is also prepared considering the practical example considered above. This course does not provide you step by step installation and configuration processes, that is clearly not the intention of this course. This course finally talks about maximizing and optimizing Maximo application performance. This course uses graphical representations, tables, and images wherever possible to make a student understand the concepts.
