Description
Learn how to improve your scale-playing effectively:
In this class, I will walk you through all the scales in the ABRSM Grade 4 exams. These videos are designed not just for listening, but for students to practice along. The courses are divided in multiple sessions, where you will find:
1) a slower tempo video for practice (which is repeated twice for practicing along),
2) a demonstration video at the exam tempo, and
3) some additional exercise/key points that help you overcome the technical obstacles on the way
Through these easy-to-follow videos, students can learn the followings about the scales:
Intonation
Rhythm
Bow Movement
Fingering
Tone
Posture
Listening and playing along these demonstrations are a great way of improving your playing quickly. Most students begin to see obvious progress after one or two weeks of playing along these videos. This class is suitable for violin learners that are Grade 4 or below (or the equivalence of it). For intermediate level scales, follow the other course published on the platform titled: 'Mastering the ABRSM Grade 6 Violin Scales'
If you find yourself struggling to overcome the technical hurdles in the scales after practicing slowly for a while, consider revisiting some fundamental techniques, like shifting and string crossing; a good way is to revisit scales from previous grades! (Mastering Grade 1-3 Violin Scale is available on Udemy, too!)
Remember, patience is the key!
Good luck on your practice!
