The 5 Hole Flute and 6 Hole flute differ with the 3rd hole from the top missing on the 5 hole flute. This will limit the amount of notes you have to play on the 5 hole flute. The 6 hole flute can be played as a 5 hole flute either with keeping the 3rd hole from the top covered with a finger or a leather tie.
The Pentatonic Scale is the basic scale to learn on all Native American Style Flutes. This is a 5 note scale that is the best way to build the muscle memory of holding the flute and playing the notes.
This course offers a wide range of instruction and technique to help you play the Native American Style Flute.
We start with the basics of how to hold the flute, scales and breath techniques.
From the basics we will move to learning how to phrase songs and add embellishments.
If you are in the market for purchasing your first flute this course also covers the way different flutes are made and what to look for in a first flute.
I also teach how to combine embellishments and play the drone also called the double flute.
If you're interested in this course but don't have a flute, I offer custom beginner and advanced flutes on my website and Etsy. (See my Bio for link)
