By the end of this course you will be able to do your makeup all on your own with confidence.
You can use the products you have available with you and/or the products you think best suits you.
In this course we will focus mainly on the techniques of makeup application. Hence I wont be talking a lot about the products and why I think they are the best.
Just know that the products you use matches your skin tone correctly and for that purpose you can ask your local Cosmetic shop sales person to test a few shades on you to get your perfect match.
Also just a little disclaimer:- English is not my First language hence if you do not understand any of the things I say, please feel free to drop a message and I will try to explain you the concepts again.
80% of getting a flawless Base is depended on how well you prep your skin. If your skin is Dry your foundation will turn patchy after a few hours. Moisturising is the key to a Base that can last you 6-8 hours.
The products I've used are
1) Plum Green Tea Toner -
Toners help in balancing our skins Ph. They help to minimize our pores and rehydrate our skin after Cleansing.
2) Citaphil Moisturising Cream -
Moisturizers help lock in the moisture in our skin by creating a barrier. It is always advisable to apply a moisturizer on a slightly wet skin, so that the moisture does not escape.
3)PAC waterbase Primer -
Primers are essential as they help create a smooth base for foundation application. Using a primer according to your skintype is Also important. If you have Dry skin then your primer should be cream/oil based. If you have Oily skin then your primer should be Gel based. A waterbased primer can be used for all skin types.
4) MAC fix plus spray -
MAC's fix plus is the best in the market for what it does. It instantly hydrates your face and its spray form helps in rehydration throughout the day. Just a few sprays and your skin feels refreshed again.
As a last step you can include a lip balm in your routine if you live in cold regions or suffer from chapped lips. A lip balm will ensure your lipstick application is smooth and that your lipstick lasts a little bit longer. My favorite lip balm is Burt's Bee and Body Shop Lip balm.
We conceal and correct our face to Hide all the pigmentation and uneven skin tone on our face. Our concealer ideally should be 1-2 shades darker than our skin tone or you can also use Orange concealer as it is most universally used colour thay goes with almost every skin tone from medium fair, medium to dark.
I've used L.A.Girls Pro conceal in the shade orange.
Other brands I recommend is MAC cosmetics concealer pallete in shade medium dark or medium.
Nars cosmetics pot concealers work beautifully as well and they also have a tone of shade range to choose from.
For Liquid Highlighting i've used Tarte cosmetics Shape Tape in the shade Medium and Light neutral, mixing them together to form a shade that I like.
Always remember the key to flawless blending is to Dab your beauty blender or your brush... if you drag at any point you will be lifting the product from underneath.
DAB DAB DAB!
That is all you have to pay attention too. If you drag your brush or your beauty blender your foundation will move. Instead just lightly DAB it on your skin and you will see the difference in coverage and blending it gives you.
I'm using MAC cosmetics foundation in the shade NC35. Your foundation shade should be exactly your skin tone. If you wish to make yourself look a bit fairer then, you can use a Liquid Highlighter to highlight the highpoints and that shade can be 1-2 shades lighter than your skin tone.
For Liquid Highlighting i've used Tarte cosmetics Shape Tape in the shade Medium and Light neutral, mixing them together to form a shade that I like.
Products I use are -
1) Huda beauty loose baking powder in the shade pound cake.
In the makeup world 'baking' is referred to the process of setting all the work you've done with your Liquid Highlighter on your face. Liquids and creams tend to crease which in turn creates lines on our face. Baking ensures that all those creases are filled with very fine powder and hence your Base remains flawless as ever.
Other brands I recommend are •Laura Mercier translucent powder
•Maybelline Fit Me loose setting powder
2) MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation compact powder in the shade NC 35.
Now if you want thay matte finish you can set your entire Base with a compact powder to soak up any excess oil on your face. But if you want a dewy finish I'd suggest you skip the compact powder in your routine.
Other brands I recommend are
•Charlotte Tilbury compact powder
•Loreal Infallible compact powder
Contouring:-
Product used - Wet n Wild contour pallete in shade Caramel Toffee.
Brands I recommend -
•Kat Von De contour palette
•MAC contour palette
•Benefit Hoola Bronzer
Highlighter:-
Product used - Wet n Wild Highlighter in shade Precious Petal.
Brands I recommend -
•ABH Amerzy
•Ofra beauty Highlighter pallete
•MAC Highlighters
•Fenty Beauty Diamond Bomb
If you have an oily skin type I'd recommend you do nit go heavy on the Highlighter as your skin will naturally secreate oil to make you look shiny.
Blush:-
Product used - Kay Beauty in shade Tickled pink.
Products I recommend -
•Tarte cosmetics blush book pallete
•Nars blush pallete
MAC single blushes
If you have a fair skin tone go for pinkish blushes
And if you have a dark skin tone go for beige or peachish Nude shades of blushes.
I'm using Morphe×James Charles artistry eyeshadow pallete. It provides a lot of colour choices with some nudes and transition shades. Its affordable as well. So doesn't burn a hole in your pockets.
Other palettes that I like are •BePerfect
•Urban Decay
•Jeffery Star
•Revolution
Always remember to dust off all the excess product and that will ensure you don't get any fall out on your amazing Base. You can always put some baking powder under your eyes and then dust off the excess after you are done with your eyeshadow.
I'm using Inglot Gel liner in shade Black.
Other brands I recommend are
•Elf
•Benefit
•Maybelline
•Loreal
The trick to liners is to work in small sections and make small strokes. If you mess up your liner a bit you can go back with a little concealer to fix the mistake.
Just remember to blend the concealer properly and use a very little amount.
Lashes elevates your look instantly and they are my personal favorite makeup product/accessory to use.
Always start your lash application from the middle of your eye and then going towards the ends.
Using PAC cosmetics eyebrow palette by mixing both black and brown to create a colour more similar to natural black/brown hair colour.
Work in sections again starting from the middle. Always deposit most of your colour in the middle of the brows and keep a light hand towards the front end as they are naturally a bit lighter than the rest of our brows.
For Mascara I'm using Maybelline and covering only my lower lashes.
Remove all the excess product from your lash wand before applying your Mascara. Also make sure you apply atleast 2 coats of Mascara to get that voluminous finish.
For lipstick I'm using MAC lipstick in the shade Brick-o-la.
